Just watched the first bit of QT.

Now I'm sure she wasn't typical of those that voted to remain, but just seen the most odious creature imaginable. She works at GOSH and was mainly concerned about what would happen if the funding got cut, despite the fact it was stated that certain research funding would be protected during the run up to the vote.

I've had to watch the bit a few times just to make sure she actually said what she did. Utterly disgraceful woman. She actually said that she hoped those who voted to leave would one day have a child that needed specialist treatment and that it wasn't available.

I'm still in a state of disbelief that someone could actually say something like that. And on QT.

And to think that disgusting, stupid people like her had the nerve to refer to those that wanted out as racists. God only knows what her neighbours must be thinking.

Not true Lymes: while some Labour MPs are clearly remainers (as are some Tories), their leader isn't. Here's what he's just said:

"Labour respects the decision of the British people to leave the European Union," the Labour Party leader said in a statement.

"Jeremy Corbyn indicated that the Labour Party will not try to block Britain's departure from the European Union after a pivotal High Court ruling in London on Thursday said that Prime Minister Theresa May has to get approval from parliament to trigger Article 50."

what I mean Hubs is generally they wanted to remain in the EU. Companies like JD Sports used mainly foreign labour so they could get away with conditions that would shame a Victorian work house. All we've achieved by this mass immigration is to suppress wages and concrete over half of England to house them. As for your quote from Corbyn that means diddly, people like Sturgeon and the rest of the bitter Remainians will stop at nothing to get their way and put the kibosh on us leaving (now I must check me blood pressure)

why are Labour supporting Remain when it has a negative effect on the working class?

There are plenty of Corbyn haters on here but the truth is Jeremy was always a committed anti Brussels, anti EU man. When the referendum came the labour PLP still had the whip hand and Jeremy was forced to repent of his heretical views. At least in public. Since then, he has been re-elected and had the referendum taken place today he would have been able to come out as anti.

Had he been allowed to do what he instinctively wanted to do, Labour would be in a much stronger position right now. The fact that they are not is thus down to the same sort of people who plotted to de-throne him, which is another of the many ironies surrounding Brexit.

And I'm very glad to see they've been brought to book over it. Also (recent) mass immigration, although partly down to the open borders system was also an economic plan by the Labour government (and continued under Conservative) to boost their coffers, and most of those immigrants during that Labour govt. period were from outside the EU. Still think we should leave the EU though, it's a ####ed up, undemocratic behemoth in radical need of reform. Independent nations in an open and transparent union is what we need I think.

the beeb generally tell you who is on the panel but just had a thank you for your texts displayed this week. Looks like it was an impartial panel but I thought I'd leave it as it would only wind me up. Genuine question Vesps, why are Labour supporting Remain when it has a negative effect on the working class?

Seems to me there is ( and was ) a school of thought amongst many Labour MPs ,that leaving the EU would have a damaging effect on the Economy ,and those at the bottom would ,as ever , be hit hardest by this .
Many ,many Labour voters , myself included ,voted to leave the EU , and lets not forget it was the Tory government that backed Remain ,to the tune of many millions ,goes to show how out of touch the Conservatives and Labour are with the feeling of the British working class on this issue. For the record ASLEF my union ,were very much in favour of leaving .
