We were 5 points off safety before kick off, now we're 4 points off. At least we are in a better position than we were.

First 15 mins were encouraging and I thought West Ham were there for the taking but it was awful after that. Really need to add some quality. Livermore/M'Vila and a defender or two required asap.

Newcastle are on a seriously slippy slope at the moment, they had Cabaye back today (who scored) which kinda puts Pardew's "When players return we will get straight out of this scrap" quotes to shame! Why the man got a 9-year contract I will never know?

We need to stop assuming certain teams will go down, like Reading. Who says they will go down? Why can't Newcastle, Villa and Wigan go down? Plenty of teams in the mix. We just need to keep picking up points. We win the double headers against fellow strugglers and we should be fine. 5 points from Chelsea, Spurs and West Ham away is a very good return.

Also, we do have quality players like Hoilett and Granero to add to our side once fit. We have a fighting chance to stay up. And got a good run of games to get that elusive double win too.

What I do not understand why we in most games look like we are playing with 10 men.....or even 9 sometimes. We struggle when teams spread the game out and one of our flanks seem completely open all the time.......too easy to exploit.
Manchester City will tear us apart I am sure.....I hope the players believe they can win otherwise we are in for a big loss. Can not see us doing it. When Taraabt is off we have almost nothing - and with SWP injured we have even less to counter attack with. Oh well the Norwich game at home in 2 weeks is a must win. And how are we normally doing against Norwich?
5 points in the last 3 games is not bad at all, we also only got 5 points from the last 5 games which is not that good. Reading got 10 points in the last 5 games so we are not exactly gaining on them. Personally I think Brian McDermott will steer his team to safety.
Only positives today was - a good hard fought point in a difficult place.
