More of the same from Madsen & Frey and another screamer from Andersen please. The performance on Friday was very much like our play off team not the doomed relegation one. Let's do Sheep Molesters!!!
I couldn't watch the Preston game, but how'd the team look by the end? Were we tired? Did we give it our all in the final 15?
If so I expect a loss here as well don't really have the depth right now to cope with games this quick in succession.
Didn't look tired. We played at a patient comfy pace. We didn't "chase" the game in the second half and used a lot of subs. Basically, we shouldn't be too puffed out - no more so than Swansea anyway.
Have to say, it was a text-book intelligent showing all round against a team that hasn't lost at home since November I think? I am quite open about my reticence to join in any clamour to anoint Marti as a genius but he tactically wiped the floor with PNE and clearly had all the players singing from same hymn sheet.
Anyone going on Monday will be treated to seeing us at playing at our impressive best I think.
It was mentioned in comms that Ashby had a solid game and from my perspective I would have to agree. As a young player lost at a premiership club who was stuck playing Prem 2 games, or whatever they call it, he also seems less of a car crash.
I'd like to focus my eyes on him and Madsen again, again, but right now Id be happy to see both in the team next year.
I don't see a future for Ashby at Newcastle but he might be a great free signing for us in the summer?
Ashby had a storming game. Pretty impressive given he was playing on his "wrong" side of the defence. We've deffo got an interesting 3 games coming up where we can kind of relax and objectively assess the players. As 72 alludes to - we can see who can show pride/integrity in dead-rubber matches and put a real shift in.... these are the sort of players we want in the team next season.
Be nice to see frey or Kolli start tomorrow. Also now we are safe we should be giving sutton a run out. The experience will do him the world of good. Can't be taking that gamble against burnley who are gunning for the title. Perfect opportunity for Sutton to make his debut v Swansea.
Imagined the bounce it will give him and the youngsters going into pre season knowing that they can make that jump up if they keep their heads down and get the call up to the first team. Also it's another boost for our fantastic fans! Seeing another one of our own in the blue and white hoops!!!

With Saito presumably injured, Dembele not what he was and Smyth now banned for 3 matches, it would seem the ideal time to do so.
Smythy has been banned for 3 games starting v Swansea.
Retrospectively charged with violent conduct v pne.
Allegedly punched some cheating pne player in the stomach
They beat us 3-0 at their place on Boxing Day with possibly our worst performance of the season...
This game is a dead rubber maybe, but I'd love to see us turn that around today, keep the momentum & positive feeling going - so a 2-0 win for us I reckon.
