Hope for the best and fear the worst. Don't pick Paal. He is a poor defender and I think he makes Cook nervous. Get Larkeche back. I thought Frey was very good on Saturday. Did you see the look on his face when Smyth didn't pass the ball to him from about 10 yards for an easy tap in. I would start Celar and Frey up front. I think that could work and would at least show positive intent.

You can expect Frey,Cook and Field to work their socks off, Dunne and Nardi to constantly put us under pressure by giving hospital balls out from the back, Paal to look like he’s hit the bong before coming out to play, Dembele to be neat and tidy and the Moroccan Timo Werner to slow the game down too often, cut inside when he should cross it left footed to Frey in the box, hit the the first man from corners and free kicks and fall on the floor as soon as he’s touched.

Difficult to see anything other than another defeat. The similarities to this exact time last year are startling. Dunno if anyone's noticed that this isn't the Cov of recent seasons, they are struggling and there for the taking. However, we are so far off our game and have recently lost to the only team that looked as ropey as us, even a weak lightweight Cov will have too much for us - we can't cope with teams prepared to run and work for 90 mins.
The only thing I'm wondering is how poor we will be. I'll predict another 1-2 reverse.

Team for Cov :
Nardi (picks himself)
Dunne (can only play well at RB)
Cook (picks himself)
JCS (fingers crossed he’s fit)
Dev Squad LB (Paal and Fox not good enough)
Morgan (Good, solid debut on Sat)
Field (Only 1st team CMF worth picking)
Dembele (fingers crossed he’s fit)
Chair (hopefully fit enough to play 90)
Lloyd (give him a start, no one else good enough)
Frey (picks himself)
No where near this first team and definitely not good enough to grace our wonderful shirt are the following :
Ashby
Santos
Paal
Fox
Madsen
EDB
Anderson
Smyth
Saito
Celar
They’ve all had chances, been very disappointing and in my opinion, just not good enough for this level of Championship football.
Shocking Summer recruitment! Most brought in via data analysis…what a heap of horse sh*t! The game isn’t played on a computer, it’s played on grass on a football pitch not in the comfort of your office or arm chair! Why weren’t these players scouted properly through a network? What’s wrong with sending scouts out to the lower reaches of English football and finding some gems like we used to? There are plenty of very good, young, English players out there who’d give their right leg to play at such a high level. With a bit of coaching, nurturing and developing, we could turn these into good players at this level and they’d probably be more accustomed to the fast pace and vigeurs of this league!
We are in an awful position. Injuries to Morrison and Colback aren’t helping matters, but something has got to change soon or as results go and if we carry on losing at the current rate, we could be cut adrift very quickly and then there’d be nowhere back from this!

Have we really seen anything of Celar to judge him? He hasn't had a run in the team.
Again I admit Fox has experience, but again, Sjoke got rid of him on a free. Obviously if he was decent they’d have kept him. His best days are over, proven with the 2 x sloppy mistakes he made Saturday gifting Pompey their 2 goals!

Fox had a mare but I thought he looked pretty solid when he played last season and whilst Stoke let him go he played something like 43 out of 46 games that season and has good experience at this level.
We need to try two up top from the start which would also give Celar a chance to get some minutes alongside someone. Get balls down the channels and attack the oppo defence.
It would be very disappointing if all we see is more of the same. Good teams can change things around. Poor teams don't and are painfully predictable and ineffectual, like us so far this season.

If we had 2 x decent strikers to pick, then I’d be all for this. Sadly we don’t! We could try Dembele or Lloyd alongside Frey? The lack of goals in this squad is bewildering! How on earth did the powers that be think there’d be enough goals in this squad to survive this season? And then let Dykes go for a paltry fee??? Absolutely gob smacking decisions that will come back to bite us on the ‘arris!

I wouldn't write off fox either , we all have bad days and he was just to slow against Pompey, and let's face it he doesn't really have much competition for his place.
celar just doesn't seem up to it , he won't jump and looks lost.
Saturday he and Frey seemed to get in eachothers way .
Bottom line is we need 11 out there tomorrow that are prepared to run themselves into the ground and we may have a chance , as said Coventry are not as good as recent seasons.
