Effing hell! That was a turgid game. Same old malaise of coming down to the level of whoever we are playing. We were really poor - no pace, no intensity, no threat up front and far too sloppy in possession. I lost count of how many simple passes we fluffed. Dunno what happened to Sam Field, he was suddenly sat on floor rubbing his fod but even before that he was off the pace (feels like he's been off the pace all season tbh). Anyway, him + Madsen + Colback just wasn't working - no forward thrust at all so irrespective of his knock I think he'd have been hooked at HT anyway. Had no idea who scored. Was up other end after a 30second game of British Bulldog involving all players, absolutely staggering ref didn't blow up for some unspecified reason (I'm convinced there's an unwritten rule that says its a free kick if more than a dozen players occupy 2sq yds). So we come home with a point when frankly both teams deserved zero points. Must say that Colback was immense. The way he marshalled the team for the kick off following their goal was impressive - he literally told everyone where to line up and where to go. This built up the pressure that eventually caused Blades to wilt and concede. He never got booked all game too! We simply have to stop playing rubbish walking football every time we face mediocre opposition. Hopefully this was simply a case of losing a bit of inertia due to international break and we'll go up a gear or two in next games.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.
I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.
We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Just seen the highlights and we looked really poor against an average side. Bannon scoring a well finished goal but giving this 54year old that much time and room is #### poor. I don't think this Varane is the answer, early doors but they love to sign for bloodline reasons which out of all our signings seems an odd direction to take tooI played sunday league football today.

From the off we are scrambling just to keep a clean sheet.
The ball is coming back at us again and again.
We have talented players but they're not in the game.
We have to give them a chance to play.
I would also play Dembele through the middle, and we need Smyth or Saito or both to start.
We need a threat, pace is a threat.
Not saying Marti is a bad manager but I can't see why he won't give us a chance to get into a game

In fairness, we were quite comfortable playing it out from back. The only issue was there was no end product to it. Owls kind of just stood back a bit and said "go on then, pissfart about with the ball amongst your back line". It invariably ended with wellying it up to Frey who was marked by two CBs 2" taller than him so it was all futile. Wednesday broke back on us, the attack petered out, ball back with Nardi and the cycle went on and on and on..... I was willing the clock to reach HT cos it was so dull but the bleeding thing stopped and the half appeared to go on for 2hrs!
The big issue was the dreadful slow pace. I think there were at least 2 occasions in each half when after an innocuous foul/stoppage both teams convened at the technical area for a long conflab with managers.... moron ref just let it happen. He seemed to be a lazy sod who preferred just strolling about and was very happy with the awful slow stop-start proceedings.
I could maybe accept playing nihilistic football against vastly superior opposition or to close out a victory, but playing that way for 90 mins against dross like Wednesday is baffling. And the ticket was £38! Grrrrrrrr!
