Thought Varane is a real mixed bag and gave ball away too much in critical areas. Colback made a big difference positionally. until he became an idiot again. Dembele looks fantastic. Likewise Saito. In this league big mistake by Sheffield Utd to try and be solid.

Sat on train. Very unlikely point given opening 20mins looked like men against boys. Wildly inconsistent ref who caused most of the added time by his incessant pointless interventions. Watched Hamer and Robinson screaming in face of lino for ages before storming up to ref to scream at him but NO booking??? Jack seemed to be done for an aside - looked really harsh and random.
Anyway, the new lads look classy and ready to go. Varane looks like he will need to adjust to EFL though, he's way off the pace at the mo'.
We're up and running and are clearly capable of giving any team in this league a bloody nose.

Varane was terrible! Coming from Spanish Segunda, he will take time to settle to the pace and hustle and bustle of the Championship. I think Marti learnt a lot from that today in terms of bedding in new signings. Although to be fair, we were generally terrible all over in the first half.
Fantastic second half performance and a great point. Will do the lads a lot of good after a tough start!
Colback needs to reign it in. It's stupid. I understand he plays on the edge but 9 times out of 10 his bookings are just stupid. Gobbing off at the ref is always pointless and something that's not needed to 'fire yourself up'. Smashing an opposition player is fine with me if it's needed or taking one for the team, but half the time his fouls are needless.
Dembele and Saito and going to be fantastic options for us in the wide areas. A lot more positive after that second half. Got to get on the winning trail against Plymouth next week.

Really impressed with Saito and Dembele.
Feels great to come back and get a point, I would have taken it before the start of the game, it seemed impossible at half time.
We're now off and (not quite) running. Really happy tonight, I was beginning to worry (I know it's early days). Also well done to Lyndon who took his goal well.

We've had two very difficult opening fixtures. If we got a point against WBA and lost today it wouldn't be as bad. One point from these two games isn't too shabby.

I have to say that the ref was appalling. Really inconsistent in all aspects. Was not clear what went on for Jack's 2nd card (it clearly was not obvious public dissent) and there were several occasions of players showing blatant dissent that went unpunished. I fear Jack has got a "Joey Barton" reputation and refs are gunning for him from the off. That said, he simply must button it - he is currently streets ahead of Varane, Field and Dixon-Bonner in terms if being up to EFL speed: we need him on the pitch.
