Very disappointing result.

Players and manager need to have a word with themselves tonight. Not good enough.

Two games now where we have failed to beat poor sides.

That was a spineless, toothless embarrassing disgrace. Awful from the get-go. It was only Owls ineptitude that made it look a bit like a contest. One paced with no intensity or anything. Somehow fluked ourselves in front courtesy of their duff keeper (who we never tested again) and then decided to sit on that lead with no ambition whatsoever. I thought our play/application in second half was an affront to football..... Time wasting, feigning injury and generally playing "anti-football" whilst all the while sitting deeper and deeper before crumbling under Wednesday's half-assed pressure.

Massive missed opportunity too, Hillsborough was like a morgue, Owls huffed and puffed - there was no reason whatsoever for us to be so passive and unambitious, it's not like we were facing an onslaught in an intimidating atmosphere.

Massive black mark for players AND the manager today. They need to quickly liven up or we will spend rest of season firmly in bottom three.

Just a few minutes away from a good weekend. MC has achieved a lot in a short time. But he needs to learn a lot more and quickly. As many have said, our squad is overall short of required players of the necessary level. We must regularly start with our best team and go from there and improve the squad in January. Loan Armstrong out. He is a raw talent but not ready for this. Also he must learn subtlety. Our first 11 picks itself. Start with them. We absolutely don't have the luxury of doing anything else.

Exactly this, yes it is nice to rotate the squad if you have that squad depth but we don't have that so I'm afraid we're gonna need our best 11 players to play twice a week until January at the very earliest, if we'd done this in the last 2 games we'd be mid table now.

Your so right Abs had enough of excuses with GA. Why for Gods sake can’t we get some consistency. This club is at risk of losing its identity ,for sure recent managers have had little to work with and that is still the case. But that is no excuse for the performances in the last two games which were well within our limits. Mediocre as they are. This lot were rubbish last season and tbh nothing has really changed. I was a GA blamer but not sure now think it’s deeper. Getting a bit fed up of every game being a must win.

And remember the "master" Mick Beale only got one point from his last five games in charge. That decline continued with Critchley and was only marginally better with Ainsworth. Marti has done really well since he came in, but the knives may well be out if the next three games dont go our way.

The decline under Beale meant his great start couldnt have continued and he knew it and bailed.

We can blame Beale, Critchley, Ainsworth and Marti as much as we like. The fact is that the squad just isnt good enough. If we cant bring in at least three decent signings early in Jan we are in deep trouble. Managers can only do so much.

The Board need to find a way to afford these signings to help Marti out. After a while we all need to accept the managers arent the problem.

Problem is we still have very little money to spend in Jan whether loan fees or permanent signings so he has to find a way of making a threadbare first 11 man up and play every match.

It was a poor result some fans gone into meltdown, we have done well with results since MC has come in, if we have the same sort of points total over the next six games we will climb the table.
We have a couple of tough game's in there, I don't think MC will let the player's put a inept performance like today in again.

Always play your best 11 , stick with the same back 4...Marti doesn't need to keep rotating players , our squad isn't good enough.

Watched the highlights, we lost that to downright bad defending, and players making poor decisions in dangerous area's instead of putting a boot through the ball, instead of tippy tapping with the ball.

I havent seen the highlights yet, but I thought "hoof" ball to get the ball away from danger areas wasnt allowed anymore?

I agree.

I think Marti is best equipped to sort this out and may have got s bit carried away. Now he really does know what hes got and he cant turn all the squad into solid championship players.

I would have preferred a beating by Southampton and won our last two six pointers. Also, keep your best players on the pitch even if its runs the risk that they pick up a second yellow and miss a game. Dont save things for tomorrow, its now that matters.

Talking about on our own byline asking for trouble if your trying to be clever when under pressure, which Chair was doing, I agree further up the pitch try and play your way out of trouble but not on your own byline.

Im old school.....clearing your lines and playing a long ball out to either winger was fine. As long as both wingers knew they may need to come backwards, shield the ball, and play to a midfielder. That was smart football in my day.

Warbs used to get slaughtered when his defenders over played and ####ed up!

There has to be a balance between hoof ball and playing out from the back. Whatever suits the situation. It shouldnt be one or the other. I thought pro ballers should be capable of making those decisions, especially in the last few minutes of a game.
