In his words “i realised I had to play to the teams strengths and forget how I have done it in the past”. Oh and “I need to be a new Gareth”. He changed styles because he had to save his bacon. Results were dire, Performances even worse. Now he is reaping the rewards. Shame he didn’t start it earlier, and thank Christ he didn’t relegate us in the process.
We brought in NC and it didnt work and had to pay him and his staff off.......do you think that came free?
GA kept us up and is starting to build a decent team and spirit. If you want a top manager and loads of signings get yourself down the Bridge. And it took him to drag last seasons misfits to safety. He has subsequently dumped the deadwood. Last seasons squad were a disgrace to their profession; but you blame GA!
Wake the #### up to where we are as a club, our financial limitations and the manager/players we can afford. We are a far better squad now than those lazy ##### last season.
Go Gareth.......do your very best!

That’s patently not true. And is indicative of your rose tinted specs for GA. You’ve got more spin for GA than a spin bowler himself.
We are all happy there has been a significant change, and onwards and upwards now. The team has a lot of talent at his disposal. And I’ve never bought into the relegation mindset. He dragged us into that in the first place having taken over when 8 points clear and mid table. Had he played to the teams strengths last year rather than instructing the players to lump it, I’d wager we probably would of been well clear of the drop zone and playing similar to how we have been last few games.

I try to get behind every manager and the team, but we were a total mess after Beale did a runner. I guess the end justifies the means.....?
Eventually GA will get sacked, like every manager, and I'll give the same support to the next one. Managers I couldnt get behind, from memory, include Dowie, Rednapp and Critchley.
I think GA is doing a great job under difficult financial contraints. But if you dont think he's not good enough for us, then thats fine. Opinions differ.

was behind Critchley too but was clear to see after a few weeks he was far too dull and couldnt get the players motivated
Dowie i wasnt thrilled with at the time but got behind him
only 2 managers i couldnt get behind right from the minute they were appointed were Paul Hart and hate to admit it but Gareth Ainsworth.....but i am behind Ainsworth now as something does look like its developing
was really surprised when we appointed De Canio too it almost worked under him and was disapointed when he left in the end
wasnt keen on the appointment of Jimmy Floyd either due to his Chelscum connections actually celebrated when the news came across we sacked him.
best managers weve had in my time are as follows
1. Gerry Francis
2 Neil Warnock
3. Jim Smith
4. Ian Holloway (1st Spell)
5. Don Howe
6 Harry Redknapp (say what you want he gave us the Bobby Zamora day)
7 Luigi De Canio

I have been behind most appointments as the majority have made sense (without the benefit of hindsight!). Some I struggled with:
1. Holloway second time around. Was obvious to me his time at this level was shot and he was on downward spiral. No other team at this level would have touched him.
2. Paul Hart. Uninspiring and slightly odd appointment.
3. 'Arry. Made sense but at same time always felt he was just a tiresome old bull****ter. More gut feeling than anything logical. Did give us that amazing day at Wembley but felt at time almost as if we went up in spite of him rather than because of him.
