I stopped going around 84 but came back in 98 with my youngest son , he only does away games now with his mates .
Now and again I see some old faces forget half their names , saw AS in Huddersfield told me he'd moved up near Liverpool

Do you remember I.M. from Southall , softly spoken bloke , when we played Blackpool away in cup mid to late 80's he met a bird from Barnsley , ended up marrying her and lived there ever since.
He used to go on c/mob coaches from the early days.

Yeah thats who i was thinking of .
Was you on the first ever coach we took away. Preston 1980 i think it was . Great day that was and it set the trend for future away games.

Have been to PNE with the coach , but was away in hmp from June 80 - August 81 was it the time we stopped near Stoke on the way home as the driver had family there.
BF was pushing the hot dog van into the ground he even had the blokes white coat on .

It was first ever trip that R.C. organised , we came out of boozer near ground and a mob of Preston were waiting.
There were'nt as many went the following season and we went in a Luton van. That was a lively one as well.
We did stop near Stoke on the way home , Burslem and we stopped there after a few other northern games until the old bill told us to never come back.
Remember after that a couple of our lot had birds there and we would drop them off on way back from up north so they could go and see them.

Yeah i remember him. Did you know why he got that nickname ?
He nicked a sausage from a service station , so A.G. from my way started calling him it.

He never used to have any money , the police got called and were taking him away when one of the lads paid .
Saw him at a funeral a couple of years ago looks exactly the same , somehow he hasn't aged ..gave up watching us decades ago.

It is funny how some people still look the same and never age , like A.G. he looks exactly the same.
I look nothing like i used to , nobody seems to recognise me nowadays.
You can't blame the sausage for giving up watching us years ago . I think that is the same for loads of our fans , hence why we get a big turnout when we get to Wembley ,
I stopped going regularly in 2010 and just odd games since, as my son was playing semi pro , so i would travel all over watching him . If we ever get a new stadium , i would probably buy a season ticket again.
