those were the days … I would of loved the 70/ 80s times

They were great times , only spoiled by the football .
Remember a cup game at the Dell mid 80's and we went in the Southampton section behind the goal, it got very lively for a few minutes until the old bill took us out . I was swinging M.E.'s crutch around at them , the old bill tried to nick me but i said i was defending the disabled bloke and they let me go.

I remember a bloke with a plaster cast on his foot. Same guy that was a little crazy, and I am almost certain someone drew a Nike slash on his cast
We were in their end with the fence seperating us from our own fans.
A lad close to me, got slashed under his eye, and I spent the whole of the 1st half ruining my Pringle trying to stop the blood - even their stewards were running at us.
Finally got the lad with the cut eye out at HT.

We were in their end with the fence seperating us from our own fans.
A lad close to me, got slashed under his eye, and I spent the whole of the 1st half ruining my Pringle trying to stop the blood - even their stewards were running at us.
Finally got the lad with the cut eye out at HT.

No mate it was definitely a midweek league cup game , not sure exact year . I was on the c/mob coach and most of us got in the Southampton section behind the goal , The game had'nt long started when it kicked off and the old bill chucked us out. The bloke who had the crutches had POLIO but he was a game ####### M.E. (RIP). I borrowed one of his crutches .
In about 80 or 81 we played a midweek game away at Bristol Rovers and about 30 of us went there on the inter city train. We went in their end before the game and as we were walking up the terrace to say hello , hundreds of them steamed into us and penned us tight to the fence at the front of the terrace. One of their lot was swinging a crutch around and M.C. from Shepherds bush got his head split open . The old bill took us across the pitch to the away end , i ended up going to the hospital with M.C. to get him stitched up . Another good away day with Rangers.
