Thats the question im asking too, The Willock contract situation is a carbon copy of the BOS situation.

Extend and sell him. Doubt we'd get more than £4m with only one year to go. And they would probably include £1m based on promotion for his next team. We got offers of £3m for Field and Dykes in Jan and hopefully they'll still be players teams want.

I am impressed by the energy and hope you express by thinking out the best line up. For me there is no line up that will give us any more points this season unless we bring in a top notch coach. But with so few games left I wonder whether there is any time left to really make a meaningful change.

I wonder what Critchley could have achieved with an almost full squad at his disposal? After all we got away with one or more points in 6 out of 11 league matches under him, despite the injury worries. Out of the five draws we were very unlucky with last minute goals vs Sheff Utd and Swansea. Under Critchley there was a clear plan, some decent play and we created chances. However, we were stuck with Dunne and Dickie as the defensive pairing - that was the major issue under him and remains such a headache.

Under Ainsworth the defence has continued going backwards and we cannot create anything going forward, irrespective of whom we field. I really cannot see how we can realistically expect a single point from the remaining matches. We were lucky not to concede 4 or 5 against Preston and I can see a real hiding against WBA.

If I try to stay positive for a minute I would play to Aisworths strength, as suggested by Sheep. That is a combination of parking the bus and hoof ball. I would play 8-0-2 with eight players just asked to defend the goal as if their lives depended on it and two of Dykes, Armstrong, Martin or Lowe in attack to receive long clearances, in the hope they can do something with the the ball if it falls nicely for them. This means something like:

Subs: Archer, Drewe, Martin, Lowe and a couple of youngsters.

In this team there is no place for possession based players such as Willock, Chair, Dozzell, Amos and Tim, nor Adomah or Johansen, or Robets and Richards should they be available.

GA hit the nail on the head when he spoke of non existent leaders and strong men. Not his fault, not NC fault, not MB fault. But you could just about blame everybody else connected with recruitment I hope we can survive but the lack of such players (SJ can't do the job which should have been recognised a long time ago), makes our task very hard. That such a glaring gap has existed in our playing staff for so long, which is now threatening us, speaks volumes about our club. We DO have some talent at the club, but this imbalance has damaged a lot of young players and drained them of all confidence.

Christ knows what team or formation to put out - feels like rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic. One thing, Willock and Chair need to be put on gardening leave, they are NOT players you want in the trenches and Chair can't hit a cow's backside with a banjo and Willock doesn't even have a banjo.
