Everyone knows Critchley had a proper coaching background. He excelled with Liverpool, even being caretaker manager on two occasions. He was head coach of U23 for three seasons, working closely with Klopp and help developing some top Premier League talents. He did wonders with Blackpool. On a budget probably not much better than Wycombe he got promotion from League 1 on first attempt. In 2021 he was voted North West Football Manager of the Season ahead of Pep Guardiola. In his only season in the Championships he kept Blackpool up on a shoestring budget, contrary to what Ainsworth did with Wycombe in his only season in the Championships.
We did poorly under Critchley, but still we only lost 6 times out of 12 (50%), which looks like a decent record compared to what we are now used to - with Ainsworth losing 4 out of 5 so far (80%). We were really unlucky, con-seeding in injury time against Sheff Utd and Swansea. after playing brilliantly.
I feel pity for Gaz. He is a fantastic guy, but how can the club possibly think he is an upgrade? If Critchley had lost the dressing room (never confirmed I suppose) I understand that he had to be replaced, but if you replace one manager with another it must at least be with one that you can reasonably think it equally good, or preferably better.
As far as who we chose after Critchley. We don't have a whole lot of choice/ money.
Let's see how we do against Wigan. I think it will be pivotal - lose and its looking very bleak. But we did just beat Watford at home so you never know.
Going down could be the reset we need as a club but there's still a long way to go and I'm sure Huddersfield, Blackpool and Wigan would love to be on 42 points right now.
Personally I like GA as a choice and I'd like to see him get a fair crack of the whip with his own team/ squad next season.
COYRS WE CAN STILL DO THIS!

We hoofed it to their goalie so many times, the midfield are slow ,they wait for a pass to feet, without ever hardly moving, just stand their waiting. They don’t get close enough to their man,Any team that runs at us we panic. We really are terrible. The only chance we have is at home but if you can’t beat the teams around us what hope do you have.Think we are going to get a few more thrashings away,After this season is done they need to change the whole set up starting with every coach. This lot we have are useless, they hardly produce anything worth noting ,After 6/8 years they need to be shown the door.

So that's Birmingham and Blackpool completing "doubles" over us this week. I presume there will be a good few more coming before end of season too. Good job we won a few games in first few months of season or I reckon we could have been looking at a dozen clubs completing the double over us, possibly a record?
Obviously no single game causes relegation, it's the 46-game points tally that does for you. However, taking zero points in 4 games with Brum and Seasiders is scandalous and virtually begging to be in bottom three.

would rather go down this season than finish bottom of championship next season to be honest will save us all turning on GA next term thats how i feel currently
at least with GA at the helm he will be able to recruit from Wycombe and bring in a team able to compete to get us out of League 1
then we already have the perfect man in charge already
i actually think we need a relegation to get out owners to see the current hierarchy with Les and Hoos isnt working and they are not needed as its taking good wages away from us signing 2 or 3 decent sirst team squad players

To be honest worst performance since early 2000's totally inept, Brum didn't have to do too much to win the game, our CB paring looks as slow and as bad as it can get at the moment especially Dickie he's going backwards. Lowe, Tim, going through the motions until the end of season when they go back to their clubs Looks like Ainsworth is a rabbit in the headlights doesn't really know what his best team is, and probably hasn't been able to field it with all these so called injuries? Balagon? was it a thigh strain? he would have been back quicker with a broken leg? Willock, Laird, Paal, Salter Clarke all muscle injuries how long? and RICHARDS don't get me started this is a player we have to buy in the summer how many minutes has he played 60 minutes tops, This team is only going one way down, Wigan now only team below us we have to play,
The only shinning light from yesterday was that Armstrong caused more trouble in 15 minutes then the rest of the team did all game , and surely has to start every game
This club gong nowhere until our so called DOF & Lee Hoos are gone
