Last season there was a very long Dykes is #### thread.

Then all of a sudden he came good and started finding the net, became a bit of a hero, for a couple of months and then we declined into that mediocre latter third of the season.

He came good when he had a partner up front.

Simple really, Dykes alone can't cut it, Dykes in a pair can do a job. If he is asked to do the lone striker he will never come good consistently enough to give the team what it needs. Either drop him or give him support.

This is could be a bloody good side if SJ is dropped, Amos returns, we sort that left flank and we play two up front, or get someone in who can do that job.

What a sad person you are. To conclude after five matches that Beale "doesn't have a clue" is laughable. He has plenty of experience from Chelsea, Liverpool, Rangers and Villa and everything point towards a competent person that has a lot of knowledge. Right now he tries to get his philosophy across and it is not done over night. It is not helped by injuries and some serious budget constraints. Please feel free to judge him after a full season, or maybe after the Christmas period is over - but please do not write him off as clueless now, as it isn't serious.

If it carries on until Christmas like this we are down difficult games coming up will prove if we are on the right track, would be more than happy if we win them and prove a lot of us wrong I hope they go on a great run and I'll be the first to say I was wrong.

As managers often say, "I'd be more disappointed if we werent creating the chances". The weakness is obvious and we have until 1st Sept to sort it.

I'm convinced we'll have other options available to us very soon. I stil expect a mid-table finish.
