He just doesn't look like he's completely sure he knows what he's doing. Isn't quick. Not a great passer of the ball. Can't finish. Not a ball winner. Can't run with the ball. Lots of effort but just doesn't look convincing at all. Strange that the manager rates him so highly. He's a good lad and I'm glad he's back after a horrible time with injury but he's not a starter for me.
Dozzell is available to play at Birmingham and expect he will be ahead of Amos.
I thought Johansen had a much better game tonight.
a lot of the QPR players had poor first touches tonight and overall we were very lucky, but returned the compliment to the hosts after their smash and grab and interestingly both sets of goals were scored in stoppage time in each half (certainly the winners).

Playing badly and coming away with 3 points away from home,. How is this a negative? Ok the performance wasn't stellar but results rule the game, vital 3 points, luckily won, but still points in the bag, should give the team a good boost ahead of Birmingham, a late goal shows they kept at it until the end.
we all want to see the team playing at their best and entertaining us, but I'd rather get the win in the bag any day of the week and keep pushing for at least a play off spot, 7th place would be a kick in the nuts!!

Watching MW interviewed after the game he talked mainly about how he was so restricted on selection of players who were fit enough to sit on the bench.
It would seem logical to most fans to draft in members of the U23s to cover injuries and those suffering from Covid.
My question is do some of the regulations surrounding Covid in sport prevent members of our U23s from entering the first team bubbles which are in place ?

Could be. But surely we have lads from the 23s training with the first team to make up the numbers? We have seen loads of pictures with the likes of owens and Duke regularly training with the first team but no sign of them lately. At least we can stick kelman on the bench for brum aswell as having dozzell back. Really hoping chair is fit otherwise I'd go with Thomas instead of amos but warbs won't do that. Can uncle do another 90 mins? Same for Charlie. We need gray fit for a start. He's completely different to what we have.

It's gonna take several games for Field and Amos to get up to speed after their long injury lay-offs. Ideally, we'd have a deep 25-man squad with plenty of options so we could gently introduce them to the team via 45/60 minute run outs. However, we don't have that luxury so they're getting chucked in the deep end. Obviously missing 3 weeks of action with postponed fixtures didn't help them in terms of getting fully match ready either.
We'll just have to bear with the pair of them for a while.

Hopefully, we are able to put Kelman on the bench (if he is fit and the terms of his loan to Gillingham, although cut short, allow him to play for us yet, was he on a season long loan or until mid January. I also agree, that if possible, promote one or two from the U23 if only to give them some matchday experience, including sitting in the dugout at a noisy hostile stadium.
