Gone a bit early on this one, but after today's defeat to Boro, anybody still think Bournemouth are not there for the taking? No win in 6 for them now, I have been saying that second automatic place is up for grabs for a while now, they are really struggling so it's a great time for us to play them I think, remains to be seen if we come out of this 'mini break' in any sort of form, but hopefully our key personnel will all be back, refreshed and raring to go

It's going to be a battle from here on in,( when is it not!!), There are maybe some unexpected play off contenders coming to the fore at the moment, it's going to be vital that we get back to somewhere where we was in November which was a stellar month for us, there are so many factors in play with players who are fit etc, a win and a good showing against Bournemouth would get us back on track.
I really think that Stoke was a blip for us, and that game could have gone completely the other way for us and ended up 4 or 5-1 on another day the way the game went.
I guess we will know a lot more around 7pm on the 27th December, but it's not the be all and end all in our season ,long way to go yet, there will be more twists and turns for sure

Not playing probably not done us any good. only + maybe is that some of the walking wounded are fit Stoke was a poor performance, not sure how some may have recovered from the covid that's hit the club, didn't really think Bournemouth were that good, we played well against them, 2 very poor mistakes gave them the chance all over them 2nd half.

The Stoke game was massive but we fluffed our lines I'm afraid. Both the automatic spots are up for grabs for several teams - just needs a team to string wins together. We need to beat Bournemouth in order to mount a charge but I don't see our current squad as having the resilience to win 4+ on the bounce, we seem to lack a driving leader on the pitch - a Shaun Derry or a Clint Hill character. As for the game itself, I cant see us keeping Cherries out for 90 mins, they look like they have a goal or two in them. This means I reckon we need to score 3 so somebody will need to have their shooting boots on. I'll predict a 5-goal thriller.
