QUEENS PARK RANGERS continued to put in the effort on the training field this week as preparations quickly switch to Monday night's clash with Derby County.
QPR boss Mark Warburton is cautiously optimistic Stefan Johansen will be fit to face Derby after he limped off in the 1-0 win against Huddersfield on Wednesday.
The Rangers skipper sustained an impact injury in the glute area in the final minute of the match at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.
Johansen is one of four players who will be assessed by the medical staff before the squad head to the East Midlands on Monday to face the Rams.
Andre Gray, Lyndon Dykes and Moses Odubajo have all missed the wins over Luton and Huddersfield but Warburton believes the extra day’s break due the match being played on a Monday may work in their favour.
Tough game this , they’ve just taken 4 points off the top 2 in a week and have lost the same number of games as us this season.Doesn’t look like they’ve thrown the towel in despite the points deductions . 1 0 Rangers .
Top 3 as it stands are definitely wobbling, very tough game on Monday, but 3rd spot is up for grabs if that's not incentive enough, it will be points closer to the top 2, it's a tough one to call but I think we can grind out a win on current form.
exciting times!!!
Cardiff and Reading won today, so Derby are now 19pts from safety. There maybe fight in that team, but it's one hell of an ask. Hopefully today has knocked the wind out of their sails.
Just been sent some photos from family member living in derby , they've got heavy snow . Traffic crawling along local roads . I'm driving up tomorrow so will leave earlier
Fixture must be in serious doubt. Just tried brushing snow off my motor but its iced solid. Don't look like temp in Derby will rise above 3c in next 24hrs so that snow won't melt. Don't forget, it's more about the state of the stadium and surrounding streets than the pitch. One thing, I presume there will be an undercurrent of pressure from Sky to produce some product for the paying subscribers.
Let's hope Rams administrators can find 50p for the meter for undersoil heating.
