Nottingham Forest’s upcoming opponents Queens Park Rangers have been handed a huge boost ahead of their clash on Friday.

QPR’s influential midfielder Sam Field has returned from injury and is in contention to feature against Forest when the two sides meet at Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

Field started QPR’s U23s game against Bristol City on Tuesday, managing 45 minutes as an experienced R’s side comfortably won 2-0.

“We have a very important game against Nottingham Forest now," Warburton explained. “We felt we were badly treated on Tuesday, but we had an immediate meeting to put the game to bed, you simply can’t feel sorry for yourself.

“It was a perfectly good goal [disallowed, for Charlie Austin], however we have to get on with it, it’s as simple as that. Glossing over the fact it was actually quite a poor performance against a team one division below us. We didn't deserve to win the game over 90 mins imo. Sunderland seemed to a lot more up for it than we were and they looked hungrier especially in the second half when we struggled to create anything clear cut.

Yes we had a goal incorrectly chalked off but as usual the manager doesn't see a problem in our overall display despite sticking our most dangerous player in the middle of the pitch and it took him over an hour to change it.

Remembrance tribute


Tonight, we are paying tribute to all those who gave their lives in World Wars One and Two. The match against Nottingham Forest is doubling up as our annual remembrance fixture.

As part of this, our players will feature the traditional poppy symbol on their shirts, which will be put up for online auction to raise funds for The Royal British Legion.

All shirts will be auctioned live from kick-off and you can bid for your favourite shirt immediately from the first whistle HERE.

In addition, ahead of kick-off, we will be holding a series of other remembrance tributes.

The players will gather on the centre circle at 7.40pm for the reading of the roll of honour – the list of players from both sides who fell in those conflicts. This will be followed by a period of silence before the Last Post, which will be played on bugle by Trumpeter Sergeant Warren Ringham, with permission of the Air Force Board of the Defence Council.

Not just a team below us, but one that made 7 changes! I know we made 6, but the ones we brought in were often 1st teamers (like Kakay, Gray Amos).

Warburton is right. We do have to move on and stop carping about Tuesday, particularly in this match day thread.

Its good Sam's back, and Luke too but I'd still favour Dom starting ahead of them due to him being 100% match fit and fully up to speed. Stef is the one who ought to be worrying about his place in starting XI given his strangely muted performances.

on sky we’re crap and if I’m honest the last few games I’ve seen little to suggest to fancy us tonight, however last season warbs had a habit of getting it right when it looked like he had no idea so home win 2-1

How much are we paying these two?

I think the club expected gray to be better than what he has showed this far. Does he need games to get fit? 20 mins off the bench can't be great for a player if you are looking to get him match fit. Austin and gray on the bench just cancel each other out. Surprised George Thomas isn't on the bench or Duke. I like Thomas but it's hard to see where he fits in to our style of play.

But I don’t know what SJ is doing on the pitch.

He is only effective when playing much further forward and he can’t do that with Chair and Willock on the pitch. I’d rather see Moses or Amos alongside Ball.

Stefan played the back end of last season with Chair and Willock on the pitch. Having a Field or a Ball on the pitch means he can push on a bit more I don’t think Dozzell gives us the defensive protection like the other 2.
