So when we beat them at home last season they looked one of the weakest teams we had come across the second half of the season. Anyone who watched that stream must have thought "this lot could be going down". But fair play, by all accounts they really dug in after that and had a very successful close to the season.
They seem to have followed on and this season if you looked at the top of the table so far they are the team way more than any other that most Championship fans would probably say: "Early days but I didn't expect to see them right up there."
So my questions are:
How come they have managed to turn it round? Is this upturn a blip or have they just got good? If the latter, how come? In short, how good are the Coventry we are going to come up against on Saturday?
And then: what can we do to ensure we get off to a bright start as one clear weakness is we seem to start most games half asleep and only really spark into life later on, often after conceding (even Oxford started better than us)? And if teams like Coventry have studied what Barnsley did to us first half, what have we got in our locker to counter that high tempo, high press, because that Sky match pretty much laid out a template of how to play us?
Three points on Saturday and you wd have to say that's a brilliant first month of the season for us. A defeat and a lot of that good work at 'Boro and Hull is undone. A draw wouldn't be a disaster but it would mean we still hadn't won at home in the league yet this season.
