QPR will be looking for their second victory since the resumption of the football season when they host Sheffield Wednesday in W12 on Saturday (3pm BST kick-off).

Mark Warburton’s R’s earned an impressive win at Middlesbrough last weekend but they were unable to build on that against Wigan Athletic in midweek.

In Sheffield Wednesday, Rangers will come up against a side that are hoping to turn their recent run of results around as well. Since beating Bristol City on June 28^th, the Owls have lost three straight matches.

A QPR win on Saturday could move the R’s to 13^th place in the Sky Bet Championship.

Sheffield Wednesday take aim at QPR as fan worry grows

Sheffield Wednesday may be seven points clear of the Championship relegation zone with just four games left to play, but recent results have got fans worrying as they remain in the dark regarding their case with the English Football League.

Over the past five Championship seasons, no team with over 51 points has been relegated from the division – with the number needed to stay up ranging from between 43 and 51 – but the possible points deduction looming over the Owls means that they have no idea how many points they actually have.

Wednesday face a Queens Park Rangers side that are comfortably midtable going into the final stretch, though they are not quite mathematically out of the running for the Play-Offs after Cardiff City failed to get a win over Fulham on Friday night.

That result could’ve helped the Owls given that QPR are practically safe from relegation, and facing a team with nothing to play for could have potentially played in Garry Monk’s favour as SWFC chase points that may prove to be vital depending on what is decided regarding their case with the EFL.
