You're correct. It will be like an early pre season friendly. The players haven't;
played for 3 months (longer than normal pre season),
haven't trained properly during that lay off,
and barely had any physical contact practice games either.
So those expecting things to go back to where they left off in mid march are deluding themselves.
It's a bit of a lottery and yes , the play offs are a possibility depending on how well some teams are prepared for the remaining fixtures, but so is a complete slump if they are not.
