Made hard work of that. Shouldn't be hanging on for half an hour at home to a newly promoted team. A decision has to be made regarding Lumley. Defence still can't stop conceding and we the flying start thankfully got the win. Sort it out at the back and we could have a seriously good season. Keeping wells and hugill fit will be massive.
MW has to seriously think about starting Kelly, Lumley makes some nice saves and his distribution has really improved but he is full of game changing errors, it is ridiculous that this match was even close!
It’s a lot to ask someone who’s been a keeper all of their professional career to suddenly become an outfield player too. Must need a very different mind set and awareness, so I spose errors are inevitable. Presumably there are some basic routines that can help? One thing, the fantastic first half performance depended on playing out from the back. Also, any danger of Hugill being taken back by West Ham diminished today. Really hope it was a blip.
We make it difficult for ourselves. Always shooting in the foot! Drop Lumley a.s.a.p. In January we need to bring an experienced keeper if Kelly is not up to it. We may challenge if we start getting some clean sheets.
