The problem we have is either bad coaching/tactical play or insufficiently talented/motivated players. How many times do we hear play is stopped by a Smith foul? Or that players are unmarked in our goal box on corner kicks? Or that the opposing team is controlling the midfield? In terms of coaching, how can we have so many assistant coaches and too little demonstrated tactics or style of play? What do they do on this team? Wear their windbreakers stitched with their own initials and look important? And as for the players, we MUST recruit new blood up the middle. A striker that can score. A central midfielder that can help control play. And a center back who can dominate next to Hall. As things stand, "training hard" in Portugal sounds nice to the players, but does little to assuage fans that we're looking at anything better next season when relegation COULD become an issue all over again.
