Despite the scoreline, that was not our worst performance so far this season. Both Fulham games were worse than that. We were undone by a world of a free kick and never recovered. It happens. Brighton are a far better side than us, and that's a fact. Table doesn't lie. We were beaten by the better side last night. We move on. The calls for JFH's head are completely ridiculous, yet again by the usual suspects.Top Scorers 2018/2019

Brighton scored some worldys and are a team with momentum so went their way but could have been a different story if we carried on from the 1st half and not had to change things. Most games we have been solid under JFH and I'm hoping this is the base for him to build on next season.#standuptocancer

Totally agree. First half we were the better team by far. We gave away a silly free kick and the rest is history.

We have played 43 games in the league so far:
Chris Ramsey took 19 points from 15 games (1.27 points per game)
Neil Warnock took 7 points from 4 games (1.75 points per game)
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbank took 30 points from 24 games (1.25 points per game)
I am only including Neil so it can be seen that every point and game has been accounted for, (4 games in not enough to make any comparison).

Can't believe people think we were "by far the better team" in the first half. I was sat directly behind the goal 7 rows back, so a very different view from what I normally get at LR, but plenty of evidence that our defence is as bad as it ever was, even during the first 45 minutes.
Sloppy passing, leading to putting Hall under pressure, who whilst turning away from trouble proceeded to play the ball to Smithies who had a man bearing down on him. His clearance hit that man and a few more inches, it could have easily come straight back past him.
There was the header from a cross which because he stooped under it went over the bar, when it was easier to score.
There was then the completely free header that was allowed, which Smithies did well to keep out.
Then obviously, the free kick. Sorry, but whilst it was on target, it was easily defendable. I simply cannot understand that when facing a free kick in that position, why a man isn't put on that side of the goal. Far more power can be gained by going for the other side, but the keeper will be seeing it better and positioned for it. On that side of the goal, because of the reduced angle, the ball will be travelling considerably slower and in and "up and down" movement. Simple task for a man on that post to head it away. We are guilty of this time and time again and if we haven't learnt by now, will we ever? Unbelievably frustrating, as it was blatantly obvious where it was going. The keeper simply cannot cover the entire width of the goal on his own.
Clearly, that changed the game and we capitulated in the usual manner. Let's not go overboard about how good they were, as until then it was a pretty even game in which we had our moments too.
Just to clarify Ginge, I wasn't calling for a new manager as such. Just pointing out that if we start next season as poorly as we did this and are continuing to perform, JFH will come under increasing pressure. Quite rightly so in my opinion because we are as frail at the back as we have ever been. Let's not forget the hatful of chances Charlton had, with only the most dreadful of finishing to cost them.

As for next season, if he starts the way Ramsey did then yes, of course the pressure he would come under would be warranted. I just think let's give him a pre season, January is hardly sufficient time to put your own stamp on a team. I'm pretty confident that he will have us competing in the top half of the table at the very least next season. He needs that chance and our support though.Top Scorers 2018/2019
