absolutely devasted, forget the poetry for a minute
back in 1982 i got very close to neil and he was a real love machine,he always had this lovely charisma about him and he was always smiling, his singing was revelutionary,he knew all these really long songs about qpr,i dont know if he made up some of these songs, but he was such an icon, im sure he will have gone up there into the world of angels,
RIP Neil and sincere condolences to his family from myself and Shirley
As Fawny says Joe don't beat yourself up about not seeing him again mate as you were a true friend to him which I am sure he and his loved ones knew and appreciated right to the end
I only spoke to him about 10days or so ago and whilst he was doing his best to be stoical it was apparent that he was struggling but still positive about our chances of going up...
I don't if any of you remember late last year when Neil made a plea for East Kent R's to meet up etc? Well anyway we got in touch and spoke and texted quite regularly but never managed to actually meet up in the flesh as it were due to the medication he was taking knocking him out at times that I could visit...
From my brief time of speaking and sorting of getting to know him a little he seemed like a perfect gent and was a very passionate and knowledgeable R's fan who loved his family as much as his team.. It was an honour and a privilege speaking and sharing memories and hopes with Neil and I am sure that we will all offer our sincere condolences to his wife Becky, children and family who am sure will miss him greatly but always have fond memories of a very decent and likeable man.. RIP and he really was the epitome of RTID....
