Smiling as I recall the Roeder shuffle, and the slightly odd upright running style he had. Very underrated in my opinion, a classy defender who was really comfortable with the ball at his feet.
We were spoilt for central defenders back on those days and Glenn was the most skillful.
We were and Venables sold him because he had Steve Wicks, Bob Hazell and Alan McDonald in his squad and wanted to allow Roeder more game time by joining Newcastle.
He was one of my favourite players to watch and I was so pleased when we signed him from Leyton Orient even if he couldn't save us from relegation.
It was such a shame that he missed the FA Cup Final and I recall that a campaign was started to separate suspensions from Cup and League matches (which they do for European cup competition fixtures). I agree Stainrod, I we would have won the FA Cup had he played and Allen not got injured early in the final.
I will never forget that stepover move or his great volley winner at Carrow Road.

He could easily have played for England and would surely have won dozens of caps for some ball playing European national sides if he qualified.
Was a sublime player very comfortable on the ball. Remember his double shuffle on many occasions but the one at Watford when we beat them 2-1 times was the one for me as all my mates were Watford fans. When Glenn goes up to lift the FA Cup well be there, we’ll be there. RIP Glenn
