Eze seems knackered after an hour needs to work on his fitness , this was a problem with him last season .

Thought Manning had a good game CB's did nothing wrong but caught out for the pen, Chair ok when came on as too was Kane Hugill worked hard,

Point was a fair result simply because Huddersfield were very well organised.
Don't agree on Manning being poor. Plenty of crosses into the box, provided an assist for the goal and was decent enough defensively. Would also have to add that he didn't shy from tackles after almost having his leg snapped in 2 !
Cameron was my MOTM - very solid in a midfield that could so easily have been overrun by Huddersfield. Thought Amos could have got into the game a bit more, although it is early days and you can see he is a decent passer of the ball. Scowen had a terrible game and was rightly taken off.
Have to say Chair is absolutely superb. Must see more of him as he came on and really impacted the game.

I thought Eze started off well abut after the 1st half hour, he faded and often lost the ball far too easily. Manning worked hard and looks like he wants to compete to keep his place. Scowen, unfortunately for him, had a poor game again in the advanced midfield role and the play was better when Chair replaced him.
I was very impressed with Kane and QPR haven't had a pacy right back like him since Walker when he was here on loan under Warnock.
Hugill put in a shift but his finishing and link up play a bit disappointing - he should have scored when Eze's corner found him 6 yards from goal and he headed over and he should have played in BOS in the 1st half.

Originally posted by Del View PostI think that is a bit harsh on Manning too. He was more involved than most, especially first half, always an option and making runs that created space for Eze. He rarely gave away posession as very comfortable on the ball. A few of his crosses didn't come off but that's the only negative I had...at least he was advanced and trying to whip balls in for Hugill. Bear in mind he also he got wiped out more than once, the worst In the first half where their player should've walked for a knee high assault, so I expect he was feeling it after. Great delivery for the goal too.
Talking of Fks why did Hugill take those ideally positioned kicks on the edge of their box. Both were shocking and wasted. First ok, but then shouldn't have been anywhere near the second. Manning is a dead ball specialist so I'd have let him have them.
Overall the team played well and didn't give up and got the least they deserved. I thought pass to the runner leading to pen was off sitting directly opposite in Ellerslie but not seen decent footage yet.
Weak point for second game was Scowen who is just not good enough for a quick passing style. Work rate great, but touch and passing terrible. Like last week missed placed simple passes to opposition who again very nearly scored very early on as a direct result. He's a liability in the team where everyone else is composed and controlled. Chair looked very competent and far better. I'd play him in the cup and if does well start instead of scowan in the league against City too. Or bring Pugh in on left and Eze behind a striker...problem then is Eze won't work as hard in the role as Scowan so the high press impacted. Maybe move Amos forward or even start with Wells in there....
Summary, very positive. Great in possession. Barbet is a cool class customer, very good. Hall back is like a great new addition, he looks so solid and as a pair they are great. Cameron was superb in his role. Very solid, quick to sense danger and win the ball back and dominates his space. Those 3 together are superb slowing the fullbacks to advance. Kane looked excellent in his brief stint, really impressed and see him coming in when match fit. Amos looks comfortable in the heart of the team and moves ball quickly. BOS and Eze had decent games with BOS unlucky with 2 good efforts.
Slight negative, Hugill was too isolated. Worked his nuts off chasing down to no avail as support often not close enough and we created very few chances for him in reality. Maybe needed wells on sooner to support.
Overall another good point in this tough league and we'd have all taken 4 from 2 games. Also big jump from Stoke who although fancied by some fnished low in the championship last year, whereas Huddersfield had 2yrs in the prem and although relegated still have good players. Factor in the longer we have to gel we'll only get better
Onwards and upwards.

Thinks for the most part the team played brilliantly today, last week also, against tough opposition. Whole new team put together, they ran their socks off and really pushed for the equaliser and then a winner. Think they deserve a lot of credit, as does the manager

Good report Romford.
I thought Manning was poor today and we were generally very stretched and could have benefitted from shorter quicker passing.
The pitch condition wasn't great and players were slipping. I think that contributed to some errors.
Bright tried very hard today but looked like he struggles playing on the right.
Amos was very lively, thought he was impressive.
We definitely deserved a point wouldn't say we deserved to win.
Today was my first game and I'm still not sure what to make of this team.Last edited by Joe90; 10-08-2019, 10:20 PM.

Agree about scowen , chair and Kane looked lively when they came on , we need to get the ball forward faster . Hugill had little service ,thank God bidwell is gone . Grant hall played well my mom . It would of been cruel if we had lost

Well deserved point against a well set up Huddersfield, saw lots of good things today, and in time and with a few tweaks I think we will have a decent season.
I thought Scowen looked lost in the advanced midfield role, and we looked far more dangerous when Chair took over, Chair has great balance and vision
and hopefully we will see plenty of him, impressive debut by Kane and everyone gave 100%.
Cameroon was solid as were the 2 centre backs, got to say Barbet can hit a mean 70 yard cross field pass.
Negatives for me today were both full backs, especially Manning, I think when fit Kane and Wallace will be first choice.
Eze oozes class and worked hard for the cause, the pass leading to the penalty looked offside to me so was probably 5 yards onside,
Still 4 from 2 games, signs of good things today on the pitch, so overall very happy.
