So lets get this right Pete and I do believe you....this lad has basically scored 41 goals in the past 2 seasons which would not be far off equating to a 1 in 2 goal ratio.


The moment this lads name was mentioned some of us went scurrying off to that fountain of football knowledge, Wikipedia and looked for his goals on You Tube. It trully is embarassing to read how thick some of our supporters can be when condemning a players career based on such little and unreliable information at times..

I wouldn't deny that Serie B is different league to the CCC and what little I do know about it I have always believed it to be a well respected league held in similar regard to that of our own second tier. Looking at the Grosettos form last year they were Serie B's 2nd best goalscorers (64) and had the worst defence (66). The season before last they scored 47 goals and this represented Pericoli's 23 goal season. Trying to compare goals for and against from last season between the 2 leagues they don't look too disimilar. However, it does look like Grosetto made Seie B's eqiuvilant of the Play Offs despite having the worst defence in the league - which means someone must have been doing something right at front.

Obviously there are doubters out there who want to see us sign a proven CCC goalscorer but I suppose when you can buy the eqiuvilant striker for a fraction of the price is it that unwise an option?

For me I'll reserve my judgement if he signs until I have seen him play a reasonable amount of games.

Fair play to him at least pellicori is giving off the right vibes and wants to give it a good crack. I couldn't care less about how many he scored last season or the season before that bottom line is if we sign him lets back him

To be fair they all trained hard, but you get some that look down on you, a little. Thats what I mean't.

People like Pellcori, Ramage, Ainsworth, Balanta, Alberti, Faurlin, Mahon, Rowlands, and even Hall are top drawer

This guy does seem to be very determined and passionate, his English is sketchy, but he talked about in broken English about his goal scoring record. In Italy Serie B is not covered too much ( in fact no live games in of Serie B in Italy), his best time was when he scored 23 goals in one season for Grossetto and than last season he scored 18. The reason why we don't have goals on you-tube is that is rarely covered, but he will soon provide a more in depth DVD which he has of his goals and we will of course put that up on the web-site.

End of the day, no point in being negative and I really hope he proves us all wrong. He got offers from other clubs in Italy, but as soon as he got the call for the move to QPR, he jumped at the chance.

When we see a player for the first time, we are quick to judge, mainly due to our incomplete knowledge of that player and we seemed to have accepted Faurlin because of his price tag, but I learn't a lesson today which we never see. He speaks with a complete determination to learn English and get the club promoted, its going to take time to adapt to the championship and for that reason, I'm will give assessments on his performances but it will always try to have a positive aspsect to it.

This guy who can hardly speak a word of English, goes to a complete unknown country, does not know anyone and has basically to fend for himself, forget the footballer tag, think about us. Think of going to work in Italy without knowing the country, the language, the currency, away from your family and not knowing how the fans will react to you. He may not be the answer, but he needs to be given time. I would hate to see this player booed based on our inability as supporters to give players a little time. We should remember the day he wears those blue and white hooped shirts in a championship match, it would be a proud day for him too, I hope we don't spoil it.

good news if hes a committed player and gives his all, just hope he ends up being a good player. Im up for giving him a chance - but i dont understand why we have to keep getting players who might or might not be good. It makes more sense to get someone from this country, who has experience. I think we should have learnt this from last season, but if its JM and JG who have chosen him - then i guess he must have some sort of qualities that they see

I agree with you and, it seems, a fair amount are at least prepared to give him half a chance. Sadly though I feel he will be doomed by the negative fans that seem to think we should be competing with Man City and Real Madrid for the highest amount spent in a transfer window :anger:
