  • Are we partly to blame?

First post on here so take it easy on my guys!!

I can't help but think that us fans are partly to blame for this mess. Obviously Hughes and the players have to take 99% of the blame but I think we have to take some of it for where we are.

It all started with the summer transfer window. Hughes spent money on players which we thought were going to be massive for us this year. Bearing in mind we had only just stayed up last year. I think we set our expectations too high. Top half with this squad? In their day yes but now, we are dead certs for the drop unless we have a miracle. The tone for the season was set when fans were singing paddy kennys name when swansea scored their second on the opening day. This is not going to help our team. Since then our home support (bar Sunderland) has been pants and the players have had no atmosphere to build up their play.

Yes they shouldn't need this but we have to help them by encouraging. Harry has done his best with what he has. The introduction of Samba and Remy has been a revelation to the squad but it is all too late.

What are your thoughts on this? could we have done more for them? Should the players need our support to up their game?

Not suggesting it is for one minute by I can't help but think that us getting on the players backs at every mistake has helped the situation

Tbf he said 'partly' and he also said that hughes and the players were 99 % responsible.

Strange post indeed but welcome to the board! You better get your tin hat for this one mate. Onwards and upwards.

Welcome to the forum - btw ignore Vblock, he hasn't been socialised yet - a bit like an untrained animal!!

That's how I would have replied......actually, thinking about it, that comparison is an insult to untrained animals!

It's my fault I spend all my hard earns cash following my team all over the country week in week out,but its not my fault that somebody who earns in a week what I earn in a year can't be asked to put in a performance.

i do think the fact that we've been calling nearly every game since early october 'must win' hasn't helped. we've been sticking a bundle of pressure on players.

things look grim tonight. they looked grim two weeks ago. they looked very grim 12 months ago.

i've felt we've been doomed for months, and i didn't get carried away because a win today would have suddenly put us in sight of safety. we played well first half but villa beat us today - that's history now.

but... it's entirely plausible that they will only win one or two of their last 8 games. our next four games are all winnable.

                            it's not over yet.
