  • Some positive news - post Fans' Forum

You may know I raised the issue about in successive seasons that Faurlin had failed to turn up at the school where my other half teaches. The school being one of the biggest secondary schools very close to Loftus Rd. She was due an email or phone call from Phil Beard as an apology. I gave him all the details in person straight after the forum. This has yet to happen. No surprises given how inept he is with getting back to people via this method of communication. However, someone else from the club has been in contact with the school and QPR have promised that this Friday Andy Johnson will be coming to the school for an hour and a half. Makes sense as he is injured and won't be involved at Villa. Would have been nice to get one of the foreign lads as the whole idea was to get a player who spoke another language, but this is certainly better than nothing. This will be the 3rd time the club have promised to send a player so we will see if Johnson turns up. The club are meant to be making a big song and dance about it and are sending all of their media team down. So no doubt it will be all over Twitter, the official site and in the programme. And they will be 'bigging' up their work in the community. No doubt they won't be telling the full story of the visit! I look forward to telling you on Friday that Johnson has indeed turned up!
First game: Arsenal vs Queen's Park Rangers at Highbury, Saturday 17th November 1984.

    Well that's fantastic news

In other news Anton Ferdinand has promised to sweep leaves from the lawn of the local old people's home lawn
I need some time in the sunshine, I gotta slow it right down.

We all know Anton is a rubbish sweeper. How's he getting on in Turk Town?

Andy hardly talks English to be fair Jokes aside I'm glad the club have done something about the issue & as said its good it's Andy who is injuried & not a first teamed atm
          Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
          And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

I was going to say the same thing I have heard him speak and he is what I would refer to as street so it could work as an alternative language

not sure sending Johnson to a Shepherds Bush Secondary to explain to them how to rob a living is a good idea to be honest!

Beard seems like right tw*t. Something about the bloke really rubs me the wrong way.

Im amazed David Dein was never snapped up after leaving Arsenal. I would love to see him involved at our club in some capacity. A person who not only knows football and its administration inside out but also those with influence saying that im not against Beard

As suits go, Beard seems an ok bloke...dont like suits in general, but he seems the best of an annoying bunch...imo.

I had some dealings with Phil Beard about 18 months ago. Gave me his business card, personal mobile number and delivered exactly what he said he would. More than you can say for some.

I find it odd that the CEO ends up dealing with all these minor complaints personally. I don't really know how most football clubs are set up, but I can't imagine the CEO of many major organisations being this approachable.

Wouldn't you likely get a better response if you raised issues like these directly with the media team, or whoever it is that organises school visits?

Not a dig, I just don't think most fans realise that the CEO - especially our CEO - has been brought in to do the big deals on players, training ground, stadium, sponsorship etc etc. Not deal with complaints about relatively minor stuff. I don't imagine people complaining about waiting times at the o2 got many replies out of him either.

Obviously club-fan relations are very important, and they need to improve. But I suppose my main criticism of Beard is that he hasn't brought in someone to act as the main contact for these matters (correct me if I'm wrong) rather than him handling them himself, and inevitably not getting back to every single person.
