Not trying to big anything up and dont really want the hasle of loads of questions etc but I have coached at a couple of league sides and have a UEFA A license so know a few people from that involvement.

I won't pretend to be a Tarrabt fan, not because I doubt his ability but more because of how he wastes it. He is not a young player anymore and can't blame it on his advisors but I have seen so many young players work their socks off but seen their whole world collapse when they have failed to make the grade. They would swop with Tarrabt in a second, he has all the attributes, ability, size and athletism (although you wouldn't know it as he is carry a bit of weight) but lacks discipline and application. The fans that cheer his every pointless step over only fuel that ill discipline and he will probably look back and regret wasting his talent but by them it will too late.

You talk as if he has never done anything of note for us.

He is not as good as he should be, that is not up for debate. He may not be good enough for the Prem (or at least for us in the Prem), but he was absolutely pivotal in getting us here, and has produced some magic in the last 2 seasons, if not as much as we hoped/he should.

I still think he is more than good enough for our squad, if not an automatic starting place.

Got some stick off a mate because I don't rate us playing 4-4-2, said it on here many times, and of course we won playing that system last time out.

Except that in effect we played 4-2-4, and one of the things that many of us have gone on about is a bit of pace and width in the final third.

The best thing about a true 4-2-4 is that you can play traditional full backs and traditional wingers, manna from heaven to those of us who think wing backs tend to do more harm than good unless you are blessed with truly exceptional players.

I think a combination of this set up, plus the Chelsea away set up might just be enough between them. I'd love to see us try a 4-3-3 with Townsend - Adel - Remy but as Geng pointed out that takes time to impliment. I've seen Villa play a high and deep back line, sometimes in the same game (because they dont always appear to be sorted) and I think the tactics for this one need to be more positive than last time we met.

No co-incidence that someone with a coaching badge appears to have little understanding of how talent could be deployed ;). Adel's goals got us up in the first place, and then our dire performances and predictable tactics helped expose him and he lost confidence. He became another very average performer for a while.

There is a way of selectively using Adel to great effect, I just hope that Harry wont make the mistake of ditching him twice in their respective careers.

Think how well Routledge played in our Championship season, with Adel releasing him.
          Agree with that.
