Zamora done what he does best, hold the ball up, lay it off, make life difficult for defenders...anyone remember his headed lay off for Remy to volley high and wide?....it's what he does....give me a '60%' Bobby over '100%' Mackie any day...

This. He has a thankless task up there & does well.

He is farked now though; can see when he plays he is in a bad way with that hip of his. The sooner he gets his hip replacement, the better.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Zamora had a great 45 minutes but his injury then gets the better of him sadly.

Mackie good impact sub up top

Agree with that. Mackie was good to bring on at the end and run at tired legs. Bobby better option to start, but his injury is very worrying.

You could tell he is worried about his injury, he seems unwilling to really stretch himself to get to certain balls and make touches. Personally thought Bothroyd deserved to get some playing time yesterday after the Southampton match.

I do love Bobby, works so hard and if you watch him closely he gets battered every time he plays

I've been persuaded by the posts here, I think I was harsh on the bloke.

                  Bobby isn't 100% fit.
I would rather much have a fully-fit Jay Bothroyd, than a half-fit Bobby Zamora, if I'm honest.

Agree. Mackie should only ever be an impact sub, or option at the end of games. In his cameo, one moment summed up the good and bad of Mackie. When the ball was lofted forward he was on the defender in a flash and as they misjudged the ball he was clear one on one. His tenacity got him in that position and effectively made the chance, but alas, he then failed to score what was effectively a sitter, which summed up why he shouldnt start. He should've just taken it round the keeper and slotted home but rushed it.

zamora is somebody we need to replace at some point the one thing we have never done is replace les ferdinand we are crying out for a center forward who can score goals for fun

i hope botheroyde starts against villa, bobby needs to rest this hip injury otherwise he will completely destroy himself the body sometimes needs time to heal
