I did not create a thread called "Marshys thoughts", the bullies told the moderators to put all my threads into one, and that is what the mods did because the mods wanted to keep peace here and are trying to keep everyone happy.
Bowles played in a better team than Marshy, so I don't think it is fair to compare them.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.
We have ten weeks left till the end of the season, and each week I am going to destroy a myth that I see thrown around these forums. I hate myths, and the sooner they're destroyed in the open, the sooner people can open their eyes and realise what is wrong with the club and how we can rectify the situation.
Yesterday I destroyed the "Adel slows down the play" myth.
Today I am going to destroy the Bothroyd is the way forward myth.
Other myths I will be destroying in the coming weeks are
Warnock could not have kept us up
Derry is not good enough for the Premiership
Mackie is not good enough for the Premiership (even though I agree he is sh1te as a striker or winger, I still think he has another position to play)
Harry is a great manager
Tarbs cannot shoot
Tarbs should be an impact sub
If we go down, it is all Mark Hughes' fault
If we stay up, it is all down to HarryIf you do not agree with my post, fair play, but I am not going to let these posts become flame-wars, and if you're going to come here just to dish out abuse because someone disagrees with you, then you need some serious growing up to do.
So why is Bothroyd not the way forward. Well, Southampton are a poor defensive side. They had just leaked 4 goals against Newcastle. And it was evident how poor they were on Saturday. So a performance against a poor side cannot be used to justify a place in the team.
Yes, he might have score 3 in 5 this season, but who has he scored against? Exactly.
And how did he do at Wednesday? 1 goal in 12. Yes, that's right - are we really going to rely on a guy who has scored just once in the Championship this season?
But the biggest worry is, he'll be keeping Tarbs out of the side. And that is a HUGE mistake. But I know some people hate Tarbs, so let's forget about him for a minute. The worry is, he'll also be keeping Bobby out of the side. And that would be a HUGE mistake. Bobby has much better aerial presence and hold-up play, and is proven at Premiership level. Bothroyd has only every done well for Cardiff.
Now I know some people get excited after one game, but if we want to stay up, Bothroyd is NOT the way to do it.
Absolute comedy gold

I thought Bothroyd was the difference against Southampton as we tried to attack more. I don't see the point in slagging off the match winner. How does that do the team or the fans any good what so ever?
Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
And many more mistakes

I am not slagging him off, I like him, and he did well, and if we stay up, I will be grateful for his finish.
I still do not think he is the way forward though, and if he plays regularly, we will go down.
I'll destroy a myth you clearly live by..... the one in your head that tells you your opinion is fact and anyone who disagrees with you must be wrong.....
Having an opinion is great, but don't try to spout all yours on others and suggest they don't know what they're talking about if they have a difference of opinion.
As for your comments, Bothroyd performed against those he was playing against.... what more is he supposed to do??? Also, he dominated a very good West Brom side who are anything but poor defensively. AS for the stint at Sheffield Wednesday..... do you really think he wanted to be there and really gave a sh1te...? Really?
Without picking up on all your pending "myth busting" (do you have a cape by the way), i have to touch on the one about Mackie.... you basically admit he's sh1te in his 2 supposedly best positions, yet think he would be good enough for the prem in another position he's never played....??? That's basically what you're intimating and by default proves you must be pretty clueless.
Also the one on Adel's shooting.... you're saying it's good then.... yeah, one in 20 might be good, the rest are pitiful and embarrasing.
He won't be keeping Bobby out of the side, Bobby's injuries will keep Bobby out of the side. Bothroyd is a decent player in a similar mould to Zamora and so could be very useful for us, especially as he is arguably the ONLY FULLY FIT STRIKER we have at the moment.
Why not just wait and see what happens? Why do you have to 'destroy' this myth?? You could waste a whole day of your life on this pointless exercise and Bothroyd could go on to score 4 or 5 in the run in or not score at all, this thread won't impact that in one way or another and will just cause more arguments between fans, which judging by the titles of your upcoming threads, is exactly what you like doing.

Again il say it, the other options haven't worked, time for the final roll of the dice. Two up top either bothroyd or Zamora alongside remy. Hoilett and Townsend on the flanks and look to get balls in the box. The fact bothroyd has scored 3 goals in a short space of time deserves some credit an another opportunity saturday
Your opinion only looks at negatives you never find any positives (And im MR positive)
Your the type of person who literally just loves a moan and wants the whole forum to love you and if they dont you just want to gain reactions of us all..
Give Bothroyd a break for **** sake, he just scored the winner in a six pointer match.
Get overself Marshy, because your views are well over the top!!!

I know a striker and winger is not Mackie's best position, the proof is in the eating of the cake, everyone can see he has been an abysmal failure there this season, and he has unfairly got blamed by fans for not performing, when in fact it is not his fault. His true position is a defensive midfielder, and I will prove it when I come to that post, at the moment I am just concerned with Bothroyd not spearheading our attack, because if he does, we WILL go down.

Agree. And i heard he's a real team player... apparently was always the first to the bar in Dubai!!
We know Bothroyd aint the way forward but thats all we got
Zamora's hip is gone, no more footy form him
We have Remy and Bothroyd
Hoilett can play that roll too but going forward will need Remy, Bothroyd and Hoilett in the attack mode
Would you rather Mackie as a striker?
No, Mackie should switch to central midfield with Diakite, put Townsend on the right, Hoilett on the left, Remy up front with Tarbs having the free role.

Are you serious???????????????????????????????????????
Diakite and Mackie in the middle? I've heard it all now...
That team would be so unbalanced its unreal, thank **** you're not a manager
