There is no doubt that Adel does not have pace like a lot of other wingers do such as Ronaldo or Bale or even Townsend. So when Adel goes past a defender, he knows that if the defender is quick, the defender will catch him up soon. So we come to the situation where Adel has to either release the ball quickly, get a shot in on goal, or hold the ball up and play someone in.

Because we had lazy Cisse up front in the early part of the season, who was rarely making any decent runs, and we had sh1te like Mackie up front who was rarely in a good position, Tarbs could not release the ball early. So instead, on many occasions, he decided to have some terrible long-range effort. And on other occasions, he decided to hold the ball up and play others in. And it is from this last point that the myth has arisen - that Adel always slows down the play. What people don't realise is, that when he does, it is because there are no decent runners in front of him.

Let's look at the two games he has played with Remy. He certainly did not hold up the play against West Ham, and he certainly did not hold up the play against Man City. So it is clear that when Adel has people in front of him making intelligent runs, then he will move the ball forward quickly.

OK, next myth I will work on destroying is the "Adel is the worst shooter in the team" one - should be fun.
So in short what you are saying is as he does not have pace to get away from his man he turns back when he gets caught and slows the play down

Marshy you are missing the point IMO

        1. Adel currently is not in FORM
        2. When on form he is our best player no doubting this
        3. However when we do play him, he is usually our vocal point, a player who can create something out of nothing
        4. The main issue is, that when we play Adel up top, he doesnt like to sit up top. He comes to get the ball which stops play in itself. And then we lack presence up front etc
        5. Remy and Bothroyd is exactly what we needed runs and hold up play
        6. Adel cannot fit in a 4-4-2 formation sadly
        7. When he has the ball its usually in the middle of the park we cant always utilise this. Not every game suits him

haha - No I was thinking more of the following

Something that we use most frequent, Something is the centre of attention, something that draws your eyes to it immediately, something that stands out from everything else.

Some thoughts are just best kept to ones self, just like opinions; some people should not be allowed to voice them.

I think the geezer is the George Soros of WATRBs.
When everyone said Arry was doing well, Marshy said no, we must attack, attack, attack.
Posters said no, Marshy was radio rental.
Then the bubble burst and posters said attack attack attack.

If only, they seem to spread like a virus and before you know it you start seeing Marshys opinions in your sleep!

There is no right or wrong to this debate. We have been poor as a team, we have used more players than the other 91 football league teams put together. This means different players, in different positions in different formations getting beat and/or defending deep week after week.
