  • Not trying to be negative but one massive fear i have about mbia

we all know this man is a ticking time bomb on the pitch.
My fear is the fact that he could get sent off in one of these very crucial games to our season when the game is balanced and we lose and effectively lose our place in the premier league.
when he got booked yesterday i was scared sick for quite a large patch of the game, especially when it went 1-1, that he may just get a second yellow especially as it seemed that howard webb was southamptons twelfth man

surely i cant be the only person who thinks this
i supported qpr in the glory days when chris kiwomya and michael ngonge played up front

The guy is sh1te. Tell Diakite not to dive in and I'd start Diakite week in, week out, as he can drive forward with the ball with purpose, and we need our midfield to be able to do that,

You're not. His booking yesterday was classic Mbia. He got hustled off the ball then ran after the fella in the middle of the pitch and grappled with him eventually fouling him. There was absolutely no need to do anything other than get goal side of him and deny him space. And it would have been better if Mbia hadn't been so soft to lose the ball in the first place. It's good form to compensate for a mistake, but not by acting like a headless chicken. He's been booked for similar things in the past. For a big fella Mbia's far too easily dispossessed. Like the guy, but he's far from a finished product. And he must be up for a ban soon given the number of yellows he's collected.

He's a proper head case, like a kid with ADHD that's had a tube of blue smarties
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Diakite is a liability in the DM role.

Telling Diakite not to dive in... You may aswell just do that with Mbia but I still wouldnt trust either to take any notice of that as its in their nature to get stuck in.

all our DM's are flawed we need to make a pure breed with mbia's work rate derry's tackling and diakates football skills

The glove incident done it for me

Watching him closely yesterday a real lazy player with no urgency to run at players and good at pointing at others to mark and trying to look busy

Would have Derry and Diakite over him

Derry seems to be out of favour again, since the Swansea mauling and being hooked at half time.

To me it looks like Mbia wants to win the ball every time, even if he can't get there or he doesn't need to win it. If he doesn't win it straight away then he ends up fouling the player.

He needs to calm down and realise that if he can't win the ball then holding the player up and making him pass or lose possession is just as good.

Scares me every time he makes a tackle once he gets booked.

Mbia's a better bet than Diakite, a lot of Mbia's tackling is clumsy, afraid Diakite just can't help himself and goes to ground and refs can't resist giving him cards

Im going to be controversial (Mainly because I dont think Mbia is sh1te - Quite a strong term for someone who plays every week)

But I would say he has been one of best players this season. He does a lot of things for the team that goes unnoticed. I rate him and without him I think our middle of the park wouldnt of been half as good as it has.

As for the ticking time bomb for a red card - Diakite is always getting sent off!!

Diakite should get a start however having both Mbia and Diakite doesnt work.

Yeah true, he does seem to be a bit strange and makes rash decision like his sending off against Arsenal (really mental moment)

Im unsure whether he will get another straight red like that but you never know...

He isnt like Diakite however! That guy, well although I rate him... He scares the hell out of me when he hasnt got the ball.

Pretty much. He's not even subtle about it, just needless cynical fouls and I don't know why he does it. Different problem from Diakite who picks up cards because he's a proper madman who puts your heart in your mouth whenever he makes a tackle.
