  • Very rare, but very nice all the same.

Winning a match on Saturday, away from home as well, be able to watch Match Of The Day with some degree of satisfaction, get up on Sunday morning just itching to read the match reports in the Sunday papers, and just bask in the warm glow of three points few of us really expected, but which were jolly well earned by the lads yesterday.

A solid performance, Park & Bothroyd in particular, who have come in for criticism this season, and deservedly so, but who needed to be brought back into the fold for yesterday's game, played well enough to justify inclusion for the team next Saturday against Sunderland. I hoped to see the Jay Bothroyd we saw in the FA Cup at West Brom, and he duly put in a welcome appearance. Ji-Sung Park's hard work off, and on, the ball, was still being underplayed by many fans after the game, but for me, if we see that level of performance upped even by a small jot, we have more than a chance of beating Sunderland at Loftus Rd.

If the lads can just step up one more gear against Sunderland, this time next week we will be celebrating our first back-to-back league wins for the first time since being promoted. And if lady luck sticks by us a little longer, we could be just 1 point off safety, I don't know about you, but that would be the biggest lift our club will have had in a long while, and staying in this division won't be just the pipe dreams of the happy-clappy brigade.

The worst thing we could do.

A lot of people would have said the very same, before yesterday's game.....And look what happened, Jay & Ji-Sung combined to score the winning goal.
I can think of worse things we could do, than give them the chance to repeat their performances.
