  • Harry explains Tarbs/Townsend absence

“Townsend has been excellent. He’s done great for me, so it was a difficult one leaving him out.
"He’s been as good a player as we have, but I decided to give Junior Hoilett a run today.
“I felt we needed a target, so I brought [Jay] Bothroyd in as Bobby [Zamora] wasn’t fit.
“Adel hasn’t been at his best so I left him out.”

Stupid to leave out Townsend, got lucky today, but next time it will back-fire.
Same with Tarbs, Bothroyd is sh1te, he's a Championship player, not a PL player, he might deliver once every three games against a sh1te team, but no more.

Can't disagree with anything Harry said. Think he's being kind to Adel.

Mate not being funny but have you been on the sauce tonight? I see it from you on another thread aswell, I agree with the Townsend part but not with the rest. I don't think taarabt is ***t tbh, how can you say that anyway after he has contributed so much to the club! He has pops up at the right times and when he does he is vital! And as for Bothroyd give the lad a chance I'm fed up of everyone giving him a last time! He had a bad season last season but he's scored in his last 3 games with a few good performances, surely that's worth a shout?

And yeah Adels recent form has been p1$$ poor but the lad will deliver sooner or later, and yes I'm a fan of his because of what he has done for the club but if he has done wrong I will admit it and his recent form has been poor

Another attention seeking thread from Marshy. Bothroyd done well today fair play to the lad.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

I was suprised Townsend was left out but Hoillett and Bothroyd worked their socks off and both looked lively. That's the best game Bothroyd has played up top on his own for us. He deserves some credit and I imagine training with BZ has contributed to him playing the target man role well today.
Remy who also came in today was superb. Southampton **** themselves whenever he got the ball.
Taarabt isn't a team player and we'll benefit from his absence from the starting line up.

                        Oh dear....

We have been crying out for 2 strikers on the pitch for what seems months, and finally he listens so surprise surprise, when we get the ball forward we on occasion retain it and link between advanced players and things happen.... such as goals.

You slate Bothroyd who had a fine game, linked well and scored the winner. Was also instrumental in the first goal with his chest down to Hoilett. With one up top that goal would never have been possible because the "1" up top would be the player chesting the ball and they'd then be nobody advanced for Hoilett to pick out, hence the countless times before today we've gone sideways or back and created nothing.

WE needed to play 2 up front, we had no alternatives, he comes in does all that's asked and you're critical... pathetic.

AS for Adel, he's been totally ineffective in recent games and i think needed to be dropped. Same with Mackie, who's always ineffective. Both these players are greedy on the ball and dont pass when they should. It was no surprise to me that without them the team unit was better simply because players knew if they commited to a run, it would generally be released to them.

Hoilett deserves to start. Would like to see him on one wing with Townsend on the other!
We're Queens Park Rangers and we always do things the hard way!

we won the game, why the need for negative comments? We showed a better attitude and committment, Bothroyd scored and still you criticise, how strange?

I see what you're saying; with Tarbs and Townsend in the team we have been destroying teams 5 - 0 every game....madness to leave them out...next HR will drop Mbia and we're truely f..ked then....
