When the Blackburn lads were out we saw them on the **** in Barasti. When John Terry was out here after he got caught with Wayne Bridges mrs I saw him at the Royal Meridien on the same day as the Sun were snapping him.

Trust me, we have a decent sized supporters club out here and if the players were out on the smash someone would have spotted them and it would have got back to us!
    Tbh this sounds about right.

Unfortunately the damage is done but it would be nice to know it wasn't true. Lets hope so.

    • Going- ocassionally- on the ****, while unwise, isn't the problem. It was days before the Man U game. Whether we like it or not young well paid athletes do go boozing. Provided its a couple of days before a game it's frankly not that much of a problem. Especially if its the odd binge. Remember England and the infamous dentist chair?? Boozing in such a manner can help bond players together. The real problem is 1. the poor quality training undertaken by the squad on what seems to have been an undeserved jolly- certainly in terms of time spent training- and 2. the fact that the squad is reported as being divided and resentful of each other.... Can it get any worse?

      • 3london - what has a drugs test got to do with players out drinking? Nothing.

Tarbie - QPR players are not even celebrities in their own cul-de-sacs let alone across the globe ;)

As I said - lets see what happens on the pitch today. If we lose then this trip has got to be looked at as a total and utter failure. It can only have been to try and generate team spirit and I don't see how adding alcohol to people that are already not getting on could possibly help anything. But let's see.

That's always been the case though and wont ever change due to bitterness, jealousy etc.... If a player has the hump becasue they get £10k / week and another gets £50k, they will be peed off throughout the duration of the contracts... a jolly in Dubai will do nothing to change that, especially when the higher paid players can afford higher bar bills.....

Fair enough mate but I think you need to appreciate that I do know what I'm talking about with regards to Dubai. There aren't all that many places to drink in comparison to London, the expat community is small and most Western expats lead very active social lives, you also find that everyone knows everyone and word travels fast. If the QPR boys were out mob handed in the bars it would have got to the supporters club pretty quickly and to be honest we would have probably have been there having a beer with them if we'd heard something like that was going on.

Also our lot were at the training sessions every day and there was nobody on any day that stood out as looking like they'd been enjoying themselves too much. Persoanlly I reckon that would be a tough thing to hide when it's 32 degrees and the Middle East sun is beating down on you!

I'm willing to bet when Harry Redknapp is asked about this story in the press conference today his response will be that it is complete nonsense.

            • Taarabt, Traore and I assume Diakite don't drink. As for the players quoted I guess the obvious culprits would be Hill, Derry and Mackie. I hope they have more sense than to air grievances in public though.

Diakite wasn't in Dubai anyway mate, him and Rob Green were the 2 noticeable absentees but you're right that along with Taarabt & Traore you would assume they aren't drinkers.

With regards to speculating about who the "quoted" players are, how would anyone know? And to be honest any article that gives anonymous quotes like this one should be taken with a bucketful of salt!

                • Well.

If going on a jolly makes them bond and play better together (like today) - then I'll drive up from the West Country to Harlington on Monday morning with a barrel of Doom Bar and a vat of scrumpy....... and with no Keith Curle there...... there'll be plenty to go around.

harry already effectively said it was nonsense. in the very article he said he's not aware of anything like that. as for those saying the article is true cos its got quotes.....
the so called players are unamed and putting quotation marks round garbage dont make it a true quote.....as for those who think journos dont make stuff up....
do me a favour, its their stock in trade....didnt the leverson inquiry just prove that

But Redknapp fumed: “This is the work of someone trying to discredit QPR and damage the work we are trying to do — and I think I know who it is. It’s someone who has tried to harm us before.

“I have spoken to the players and they are as disgusted as me and can’t believe these claims either. They think it’s a disgrace
