Also wasn't Redknapp very anti boozing when at Spurs? I'm sure he banned Xmas parties as alcohol just causes problems so can't see him letting players have a booze. Just don't know with this one tbh.

They are not denying it at all. I firmly believe there is some truth and some exaggeration in it. Let's see what happens on the pitch.

So rewind back a few years to one that many on here use as the bench mark of what a QPR player should be..Stanley Bowles ..read stan the man and you will see this behaviour is nothing new!

you have a point but Stan always seemd to be able to produce it on the day and back then footballers were not athletes as they are today.

I don’t believe it 100% I think this has probably been hugely exaggerated because 'QPR spending big money and bottom of the league and on the verge of a financial meltdown while QPR players party hard and get drunk' is a story; the only thing which is correct from what I just wrote is we are bottom of the league.

Did the players have a drink in the evening? yes they probably did their adults they were no doubt told have a few beers to chill but don’t drink excessively. These are the same instructions no doubt given to the other three prem sides who are out there but there’s no story there as there not bottom of the league. If there was a booze up going on the management would have got wind and nipped it in the bud pronto not allowed it to go on for five days.

We have champions league winners and internationals in the squad, position in the league aside, they have not got where they are boozing it up. I cannot see the likes of Cesar, Fabio (what would fergie think), Samba, Grenero etc going on the lash. The article has no quotes linked to names!!!! Give the names and it then holds some substance.

Plus if we had done a week on the lash in Dubai why has it taken 3 weeks for the story to come out??? This smells very much like the previous three years since Faurlin gate of a press agenda against us.

Were S hit not because we went to Dubai were s hit because we are not a team this season and wha ever the outcome will have nothing to do with a week away

And again why are there no pics of players boozing like there were of the England team in Euro 96 prob cause it never happened. With the amount of camara phones and social media if this had happened it would have been snapped and plastered all over the net within seconds

Drinking was the done thing back then by 90% of footballers so they could get away with it when it came to matchdays.

Like v says, most of them are athletes now and if you mistreat your body at the top level you gonna get found out.

                  This.

I know us menials with never know the details of the squad and it's (lack of) morale - but story's like this make me think our squad is farked - I should imagine there are proper divisions and we're an absolute shambles with zero unity.

Did he..or do our rosé tinted spectacles tell us that he did...they got away with a lot more that's for sure. I am not sure that getting ****ed and playing a football match 8 days later bear any connection,

                        Stan Bowles wasn't on £90,000 a week!!

Could be forgiven for being a bit of a rogue. This lot? I don't think so.

Why is the money relevant ? You are either professional or not

There is a difference between going on the lash 'stag do' like the article suggests and a few beers at the end of the day to unwind and chill.

Lets assume the article is true who are the players that are so unprofessional that they boozed it up?? I cannot think of any of them that would be stupid enough to do that

Money is very relevant as far as I'm concerned. A player plying his trade for a relative pittance could be forgiven for the odd bit of off the rails behaviour. A player earning 60,70 80 grand a week going on the p!ss and performing badly is a p!ss taker!!!

What a brilliant comparison. We could also compare modern athletes to the players in the 19th century. About as relevant.
