I say, 100m of 9"by1" and 3kg 4" wire nails should do the job
I blew a lot on vodka and tonic, gambling and fags. Looking back, I think I overdid it on the tonic. - The one and only Stanley Bowles

It's fine, Utd don't have much firepower; he shouldn't have much to do on Saturday.... :pleasantsuprise:

            I'd go 4-5-1

            Mackie-Diakite-Mbia-Grenero-Adel

            ------------Zammy------------

backs take care of them selves.

              Or

Attack, play to our strengths and take the game to Utd with the same set up that got the win against Fulham- Taarabt behind a forward with either SWP/Mackie/Hoilett/Townsend on the wings.

I'd go for the attack but think HR will go with Tarbs up top and look to frustrate.
I'd love to agree with you, but I don't see how the latter team is 'playing to our strengths'. We are much, much better when playing deep, especially against the good sides.

We got away with an open 4231/4411 against Fulham because Berbatov never dropped into midfield so we always had at least 2v2 in that area and Sidwell/forget who (Baird?) simply aren't that good.

I don't want us to play this 4-2-3-1 sh*t any longer this season.

If Remy and Zamora are both unfit, I would be happy to see Adel back up front:

                  -----------Derry
                  -------Granero - Mbia
                  Townsend------------SWP
                  ------------Adel

reckon that'll be close to the team. Obviously things change if the strikers or Hoilett are available.

Drop Derry after this match. There's no need for him to be in the side unless we are planning on playing the whole game on the edge of our own box (and we will play most of this game on the edge of our own box, like it or not).

Yeah what we need is two up top. Big man and small man. Wingers getting down the line and sending in crosses. Balls up the channels from the fullbacks. Centre mids who dive into tackles. Easy game.

Oh, but what do we do about getting overrun in central midfield every game?

We don't have the right men for two defending midfielders. If we have Derry and Mbia there, we should have C. Ronaldo and Bale to take the ball upwards. One defending midfielder ok, but not two anymore. Must create more chances.

Wow, that team would probably concede the most goals ever in Premier League history.

I would go something like this:

                            Cesar

                            Boswinga Samba Hill Traore

                            Onuoha

                            Townsend Granero Taarabt SWP

                            Remy

We would either win 4-0 or lose 0-14 with this side

So how does having two strikers help us create more chances if it concedes the midfield?

Please don't even consider Derry as part of a midfield two, he is completely useless there as it requires too much running around. Granero/Mbia could work.
