Im confused I thought your intial reaction was on that you would have Warnock back but its the opposite???

Given we backed Harry with Money in Jan I think he should show a bit of loyalty if we drop just as the owners showed faith in him when they went out to get who he wanted. Loyalty works both ways and I fairly sure they will make additional funds available to get us back up (Should we drop)

While i agree with what you say re redknapp, theres not a snowball in hells chance of him managing in the championship.

Was about to say would love it if he came back to us, but I just remembered why he got sacked and what I (and many others) heard about him towards the end.
              1. Lost the dressing room...
              2. Only turned up to training on Thursdays! ...
              3. Left Keith Curle to train with the players when he wasn't there (Curle was rumoured to be an alcoholic at the time, turned up p*ssed!).

Did the Premiership pressure and the big heads in the dressing room get to him? You could argue that if he got his way with the signings then we wouldn't have had any big heads (Barton) and he could have managed the players well. Who knows.

If Harry goes I'd have him but I still don't think hes a Premier League manager
                Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

I reckon he'll stay for a bit, then once that first prem manager gets sacked hes off.
But its a moot point because the r's are staying up

Warnock will always be a legend but.....

He seems to reinvent the past very well
Manages to paint it that it was Premiership egos that cost him his job and he much prefers working with down to earth pro's
He signed the players like Barton and Ferdinand
                    He controlled the dressing room
He set out the teams and tactics

He had an unenviable period of upheaval when the two c0cks rolled back in after promotion but had time to rectify that

Would I welcome him back? Yes
Would he be my first choice? No

Also, I do recall some fella called Redknapp managing some team to the Chumpionship title a good few years back
What we do need is the club building from bottom up whilst matching onfield ambitions to return to the gravy train within 2 years. Tough, tough, tough ask and needs big Manager and a sensible level headed CEO with football experience and a passionate and patient board

                    Hold on tight
I need some time in the sunshine, I gotta slow it right down.

What a lot of you don't realise is that NW wasn't backed.... it wasn't his fault.

When we won promotion he had a list of players he wanted, Naughton, Dervite, Routledge, Rhoades, Austin etc.... Now they were all (or majority) england u21 players that you could built a team around and sell on for a profit if needed.... good youngsters. But the board didn't back him remember? he ended up with Gabbidon, Bothroyd etc... I know he signed SWP and Ferdinand but that was an 11th hour signing as all his targets he wanted had gone.

It really wasn't NW fault, we had a change in chairman with big ideas that failed badly.

                              OK, I'll bite.....

Olly - How do you know Warnock's transfer targets ? I recall Naughton & Austin being mentioned but not Dervite or Rhodes. Routledge was already with us on loan, but turned us down to join Swansea. Naughton preferred to join Norwich.
Now admittedly, very little money was allowed for signings until TF took over BUT lets see what was signed for our return to the Premiership -
Dyer (Injured ever since bar 120 minutes, ish)
Murphy (3rd choice - does he exist ?)
                              Bothroyd (England international that season)
DJ Campbell (Scorer of 10 or 11 Premiership goals, but proven to not be worth £1.2m - if he supported anyone other than us, he'd be slated for his efforts.
Young - Started well, pretty consistant until Sunderland away, then injured or awol ever since.
                              Perone - !
SWP - 1 goal in 60 apps ? 4 assists and unlucky against WBA once. Despite slightly improved performances under 'Arry - still not worth £4m
Ferdinand - Gone from Hero in Anti Racist drama to absolute poo on the pitch.
Traore - Average defender, much better in oppo's half, our best crosser of a ball (why not take corners ?)
Barton - Handful of decent games, as many sending off's as goals. Won us 3 points v Liverpool by getting substituted which was applauded by 18,000+ !!!!!
                              Trani - ?
Puncheon (loan - only signed in case SWP didn't !) - Great for Blackpool in Prem, underused by Warnock & no one cared, VERY good for Saints now !
Macheda (loan in January) - Useless.

Don't get me wrong, Warnock was harshly treated, but he's not a Prem Manager, we did the right thing getting rid. After all, we'd not won for 9 games, just drawn (luckily) with MK Dons and he'd already decided Clint Hill was surpluss by sending him to Forest. He then came back to win PotY ! Colin is an excellent Championship Manager, with a brilliant record at that level (bar Leeds).
Then consider El Hadj Diouf & Mackie - Proof if you need it that Managers have just as little loyalty and integrity than Players.
When he joined us, he talked more about Palace than us, Since he's joined Leeds, he talks more about QPR.
He very clever at manipulation. He's better to be on your side, than on the Oppp's side. Legend for us, but History, just like Olly.

openly stated that he would drive adel to psg,

                                publicly slated trore,

after a match he ran onto the pitch pushing and shoving furlain and moaning after in the media that furlain should have commited a proffesional foul (cheat)

exposing a fans email address on match of the day,

along with the signings of macheda, puncheon (who never got more than 5 mins playing time) moen, anton ferdinand etc etc etc.
