  • Do we have to offer Man Utd the whole away end ?

or do we choose to ?

They will easily outsing us next week. Their fans are fanatical and will be littered amongst home support also.

We would easily sell out the home stadium with home fans for this game so why do we increase the opposition chances of winning ?

No we dont, but Mr Beard seems to think we do.

    He's wrong though.

We have to offer the away support a minimum of 1800 seats. Neither the upper nor lower school end has 1800 seats. Because of the rules of separating home and away fans; we cannot offer them just the upper and half the lower school end so we offer both to all teams.

The school end total is around 3100, so the upper must be around 1800. therefore we dont have to.

Just giving them the upper is sufficient to meet minimum requirements. Thing is, judging by our support so far this year, there's no guarantee at all we would sell it out ourselves so the board probably think might as well give Utd the whole end as they will guarantee sell it out.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

I think the upper school end is between 1700 and 1800

"R.8. Unless otherwise agreed by the Board or between the Clubs, each Home Club
shall make available to its Visiting Club:
R.8.1. 3,000 tickets or, if the capacity of the Home Club’s ground is less than
30,000, such number of tickets as is equal to 10 per cent. of its ground
capacity; and, whether or not that allocation is taken up"

To simply for some of our users:
Basically every club must offer 3000 away tickets or if your ground holds less than 30,000 than you must offer the visiting team 10% of the capacity. Visiting teams also must be offer an alternative with a lower number of tickets.

The upper school end has a capacity of about 1600 while the lower school end has a capacity of about 1450.

                Neither meet the criteria.

Hence, we must offer both. Only if the visiting team choose not to take their full allocation can we offer them just the upper school end.

Any clubs support would be fanatical if they had 19 league titles under their belt.

Each game is a near nailed on banker. That's hardly fanatical.

Try going 30 odd years of winning naff all and see if they are still as fanatical.

Pathetic bunch of clowns with no link to Manchester or the club itself. Just a load of glory hunting dullards.

I always thought that upstairs held 1800 or thereabouts.

Easy soloution for me is to put the seats back in in the corners of the upper away end that must add another 200 seats to the away allocation and would mean we only have to offer them upstairs. Will the views be **** in the corners, yes probably but they are for the home fans also so no complaints there; just sell those in the corners a little bit cheaper.
