I understand the disdain some are showing about the trip to Dubai.
Fair to those saying Dubai's not an issue as it don't cost much, bonds players, Harlington is rubbish, other clubs are going....
But it's the image the club is putting across, we go down which is likely, all the fans will remember will be shambolic jan transfer window, rubbish performances and to cap it all a jolly to the middle east. We were suppose to be in an era when the club including players and fans were suppose to be getting closer but for many we have never been so far apart.
We are not mitigating for relegation ie signing talented young blood from lower league nor are we going all out attack to fight for survival. As a club we have fallen between two stools, just scoffing on all the luxuries of the premiership but in actual fact being a league 1 outfit.
That's why the Dubai trip bugs many, we have paid massive st prices, always carry a decent away following but the team has been awful, I know on another thread people having a go at Celtic but at least their fans are proud of them.
We as a fanbase have never asked for much but during these hard times for many both within and outside football, the club could have said the teams not doing well, so are not going abroad, they can try to sort it out here. It may be a meaningless gesture but at least using an old adage it would show "we are all in it together" but the trip is just another part of the jigsaw signalling we are not.Comment
