I like Granero - but we were not the better team. I believe we had the lowest possession for any team in the division in that game for that weeks fixtures - we also lost heavily....so comments like that are, quite frankly, ridiculous.

However - that quote looks like it is referring to just a part of the game and is out of context, so maybe he is being treated unfairly.

It has been taken out of context and people have jumped on it without reading the interview, which is on the official website. He said we gave them too much respect first half, something the manager said not to do. He was talking about the 2nd half, said we got at them and at times were the better team.

If people read the article they should be able to assess for themselves that what he said is 100% accurate.

Probably the best footballer at the club. Can actually keep the ball and pops the ball about nicely. Not only that he can actually create chances with through balls. Him and Adel play well together and for me he should play every game now with M Bia in the centre of the park.

This guy must be taking us for some dumb backwards people about 'we were the better team'

Needs to be told he has been pooo compared to what was expected

Great he turns well and can pass the ball but that should be normal for any paid professional

Where is the Granero with flair and style who was meant to be one of out star players but has been showed up by the likes of knackered glass ankles Nelsen and Derry who puts him to shame

Derry has put him to shame

IMO been a better player for us this season

Not seen Granero have any outstanding games were he was the stand out player

                Been average at best

Wow. Derry might make some effort but he is as slow as a tortoise and not very good anyway. He doesn't put anyone to shame.

                      Chelsea away? He was magnificent.

I actually think Granero has been okay, only because he comes from Madrid everyone expects more. I rate the guy a lot
                        Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                        And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Have seen him have a few good games to be fair- Chelsea/Reading at home and West Brom/Spurs away he was excellent. Fact is he hasn't had a run of games and at times was used wide right by Hughes, which just shows how useless Hughes was.

We need to WIN games, Derry won't win us games, Granero could.

So not only have you not read the article, or the comments about the OP's quote being taken out of context, you then come out with this little gem about Derry being much better than Granero this season... Blimey.

Granero has been excellent in many games, playing good football and dictating our play..... Man City away, Spurs away, Chelsea away to name but 3 against top sides. There have been plenty.

What has Derry done other than patrol a 20 yard zone from the edge of our box and act as a barrier?????? He may have done it well, but it's as basic as it comes and is not going to win us any matches. AS i said in another thread, he's only looked good because he's playing this role in a central 3, meaning he doesn't have to cover much ground, or do anything remotely taxing to the brain.

Derry would not be able to play in a central 2 as he's not got the legs or quality to do this in the prem. Simple.
