Just did the BBC predictor and we just stay up despite losing the next two and the last two.
I must admit, I did the same last season and had Wigan down by a mile and have just come to the same conclusion though so you had better all take this with a pinch of salt.
Wigan have a terrible run-in.
One positive. I have read so many snarly comments about us winning 5 or six of our remaining games - you know the ones like what makes you so deluded to think we can do that when we've won only 2 all season.
My positive response to that?
Wigan did it last year and their team was a whole lot worse than ours (on paper at least). Where there's a will, there's a way
At the end of the day, using current ratios this season we obvoiously wouldnt win the games needed, but football doesnt conform to ratio logic etc.... Look at Reading as case in point. They looked more dad and buried than us and barely getting a kick in some games, yet won 3 and drew 1 out of 4..... Not even the most optimistic of Reading fans would've dreamt that was possible.
The only real positive i can muster is the fact we do have a run of games we should be able to compete in (if he plays to win) and if we do nick a win here or there, it will be at the direct detriment of those around us we will be playing against. That could then give us a lift and lead them to wobble.....
Just wonder how a "real life crisis" affects some people - football is superficial which should be regarded as a pleasure, not a life crisis when things don't go their teams way. There, that's nice and positive with a chunk of perspective thrown in.
