At times - Bothroyd is awful and Lazy

When trying and persistent he can be good!

    Example. 'Jump Jay JUMP!!!!!' -

    ..................... he didnt jump....

I agree he is a bit of an enigma, but Harry is supposed to be the yoda of motivator's so why not gee him up. He played against West Brom in the cup and was the best player on the park. Imo Harry should've built up his confidence from that game and played him more and more, espcially when Remy got injured and Zamora not fit.... instead he's played non strikers in a lone striker role and when the time come in mathces brought o a 60 % fit Zamora.... this has probably destroyed any confidence Bothroyd had from that West Brom performance.

I agree, I think Harry needs to start Both Bothroyd and Remy next weekend if Zamora isnt fit enough (Which is probably the worst game to test it in, so try it again against Southampton)

Bothroyd clearly was motivated by Harry and starting therefore he should be given another go. He scored a couple as well

          2 FA Cup goals...

Sorry guys if you want to pick a different team then go ahead and then you see that people choose Remy and Zamora who were as available as Messi and Ronaldo for the Swansea game.

If Crouch+Odemwinge had signed they would have started - they did not arrive so they did not start and no amount of wishing changes that.

And if it is defensive tactics that are the problem why did the club win 1 game from 19 before January when the defensive tactics started?

Just seems like people making excuses for poor performances from average players - and that includes the "stars" like Bosingwa/Park/Granero too.

That would be the same Zamora who played the whole 2nd half of the match then...?????

I'd say that makes him available to play. If he only got to HT so be it, at least in that 1st half we';d have established a foothold in the match, pressed in their half, created chances and may be in a winning position. If he then needs to come off you have a ready made like for like replacement in Bothroyd on the bench so we could've continued the same way.

Some people seem so obsessed with HArry they can't possibly accept he's made some ridiculous decisions. Playing Mackie and then Taarabt as lone strikers in games against Norwich and Swansea are 2 very real examples.

Well of course the guy makes mistakes. But BZ is going to miss one half so which one is a judgement call. Playing him vs tired legs second half makes sense but no right or wrong either way I can see with that call.
So whether to start Boothroyd is only big call that was made that I can see from the players available. Maybe Granero too but he struggled first half especially last start vs City and Townsend/Jenas did well in their first starts so I can see the reason for that.
Sticking with a formation/approach that got 6 points from CFC/THFC/WHU/City should have produced a decent first half to build upon. But too many of them did not deliver what they had vs the above teams.
Basically he went for something that had worked, and worked well and recently too, one of the few things that had worked all season.
If any game Zamora+Remy are fit to start and do not I will be on his back. But that was not available.

The formation has delivered points against some big teams, and that's fine to play that way, effectively tyring to suffocate those teams' ability and shut out everything hioping for a point, which would be deemed a good result / point even if we didnt have a single shot.... However, against lesser teams, we should be trying to impose ourselves on them and make them worry about some of our play, rather than invote them onto us in a game of defend v attack. We need wins.
