  • Hughes and the players - not tony and harry

    Simple!!

Im fed up with all this blame someone else for us being relegated rubbish...

The fact is, Hughes did an awful job for many reasons.

    1. Signed what he could
    2. Not enough striking options/backup
    3. No real game plan
    4. No real tactics
    5. DIDNT KNOW HIS BEST 11

AND the players... Well lets face it, at times they just didnt turn up!!!

Fernandes is a real hero, and great chairman what more could you ask for from him. He said he will stay and if anything he may only step back as chairman but would never leave!! He and the other guys spent well and gave both gaffers what they needed.

Harry, if anything, has done a marvelous job. AND we still may do it. IMO we have a long way to go and a run of matches that we havent had under Harry yet. IF we lose them and go down, then moan maybe at the players. But not Harry of Fernandes, what more can they do.

    The players play the football...

What next? Moan at ourselves for not signing loud enough??????

Come on fellow hoops, lets stick with it for the rest of the season!!!!

Hughes and the players are certainly by far the biggest culprits in this shambles of a season.

Harry has made some truly awful calls though, to be fair. He can't be exonerated from his share of the blame, just because others have performed worse. If you continue with bad team selection and tactics, then the players are not going to perform to what they are capable of.

It's TF & co that I feel sorry for. They have done everything they possibly could in terms of both moral and financial support. Unfortunately, they are not really "football people" yet and are therefore making errors of judgement that they don't usually make in their areas of expertise. But my bet is that they will learn very quickly from this. I cannot believe the criticisms I have read about Phil Beard over recent days. What our plight has got to do with him, I don't know.

Blimey drop the Harry love in. In a few threds now you're suggesting he's done nothing wrong, and clearly choose to ignore the obvious. Mackie up front on his own against Norwich, Adel up front on his own at Swansea, when in both had 2 target men on the bench.... yeah genius.

Persevering with useless players like Mackie and Derry who are so limited it's embarassing, when there are far better options on the bench.

Persisting with a negative formation which is only serving to make it easy for the opposition and allowing them to have wave after wave of attack as our inept formation and players just hoof the ball long, to said strkers who dont challenge for the ball and it comes straight back. DID YOU NOT SEE THE DIFFERENCE ON SAT IN THE 2ND HALF WHEN HE PLAYED AS HE SHOULD'VE STARTED...???

Setting out defensively at home against teams we should beat.

Waiting until the game is effectively lost before being more positive, as was the case on Saturday. Left until 2 goals adrift and chasing the game meaning inevitible gaps left at the back when we go for it.

Do i need to go on??

We are further adrift with Harry than we were with MH after a well backed window - so not sure how Harry can be marvelous and MH a total disaster.

not totally harry's fault. the teams around us started winning, which they weren't doing under hughes.

Yes, in all my threads im saying he's done nothing wrong. (IMO - Just like you have yours DEL)

Derry has been good, working hard - Who would you put there?
When we play open we lose games easily

Calm the **** down Del, as if you are blaming Harry

I didn't say it was totally his fault - I am making a statement that should question other people's sweeping statements.

We are not talking about The Devil and the Almighty Lord here. We are talking about 2 average managers that have had the odd good season each. However, we are a small club (get over it) and we will only get average managers, unless we unearth a new unknown talent.

i wasn't having a go mate, was doing much the same as you. Harry seems to be getting a lot of the blame at the moment (not by yourself). I know we are a small club, in fact I quite like that we are small.

I know you were not having a pop Ninja - just the style I wrote it I guess.

I have posted why I think it hasn't worked in another thread I put up and it is more fundamental than the choice of managers TBH. It is more about the way we have gone about things.....and yes hindsight is a wonderful thing, I didn't forsee this sinking ship.
