Give the guy a break Bush; there has been quite a few posts recently placing the blame on the board & maybe our Soton friend didn't see those threads & was wondering why we were so keen to blame everyone other than the board?

Get back on your own board, boy......There's enough at your pipsqueek club for you to worry about, never mind ours.
Yeah, Cortese's actions gets questioned a lot by saints fans, but Fernandes seems to be spared. Not interested to stir anything, just looking for an opinion.

He is not being spared Saints - on here & on Twitter, he is receiving quite a bit of abuse.

Fair enough, as I said, I might be wrong in my assumptions that most fans doesn't put him to blame for your situation. But when the OP in this thread says "some even blames the owners" it seems strange, as it's the owners who in the end makes the decisions that matters most imo.

So whats your opinion on him?

I like TF, but after the previous owners that we have had, even Adolf Hitler would seem like an improvement. Yes he has made a few mistakes, but there is no doubt that he is passionate about making our club sucessful in the long term.

Good luck for the rest of the campaign.
I think your right the board are responsible for the transactions and managers they pick, but ultimately there are a lot of overseas owners now that are great at business but cannot run a football club.

I suspect if/when we go down we will have to sell everyone and start again from scratch which I believe is the best way forward. We need to get back to basics. I would love to take nigel adkins as manager as I believe he's the real deal.

I said that because I think TF genuinely is doing his best and has been let down by people he has given a lot of responsibility to and trusted. His only flaw is he has been naive sometimes, but he is trying to learn.

I think Hoilett was maybe the only player we signed that other teams actually wanted and now we can certainly see why when you look at the rest of them. Not that Hoilett has proved anything either.
I think that is the key really - not enough good players.
January did not really address that - 5 good players would make more of an impact than the two stars who arrived for probably the same money too.

Can see what ya saying, but Tony Fernandes is the owner (or part owner and mouthpiece), its' down to him to appoint a manager and bankroll the club (which he done fully), not pick the starting 11 and sort the side out - that's down to the manager. He has put trust in managers to select their side and do the business, with a near on open cheque book it seems. That's his side of the bargain kept, the managers and players have failed to deliver on their part.

The only criticism that can be said of TF is that he showed too much loyalty to Hughes and didn't sack him soon enough.

He can't be blamed one bit for Hughes and the players failing to win a single league game in 17 or so attempts - that's pathetic on their parts.

The most important thing that happened to cause this sorry state was the takeover. If we had a steady board and warnock was allowed to sign the players he wanted, Routledge, Graham etc. i am 100% convinced we would be just like norwich now.

I also believe that Warnock would still be manager and he would never ever sign , Park, Bosingwa, AJ , etc
