  • My take on Vine today + others

Thought Vine looked a bit sharper today when he came on. Lots of intelligent movement and looking to get on the end of things.

It was a shame following some great holding up play from Heidar and a lovely little pass that Vine blazed over the bar when there was a huge amount of goal to hit......but all in all much more positive.

    Routledge a handfull all afternoon.

Simpson. Never stopped running. Covered a lot of ground. Good debut.

Connolly immense. And with a sore head as well!

Good to see the players coming over at the end and giving shirts to the kids and acknowledging the fans.

    lovely report! Sounds good!...

I got a good feeling about Simpson, finally we have a forward who is willing to run, and close defenders down!!...

Matt conolly's perfomance yesterday underlines how incomprehensible it is to have him missing from the starting line up when fully fit

Good, but it still sounds like we were really lucky to win.....

              We weren't lucky to win.

They were lucky we didn't win by 3 or 4. Keeper makes 2 cracking saves (Legs & Hall) and Vine should have buried a chance late on. That's not counting the penalty we didn't get, which was exactly the same as the pen Rooney got at Old Trafford yesterday.
We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are...

                We weren't. Simple as that.
But if you're convinced, fair enough.

                And agree about Connelly.
I'd make him team captain, not some filler-in at the back.

Not just based on one game yesterday, he's our best defender, and should be first choice centre back. Not left back, or a sub.
