Hoilett is the big bad ..... wolf here.
IŽll bet he be off with a smile on his face as soon as we are(IF) relegated.

Hoilet had the opportunity to go to a top half established side, still picking up his full wage, and declined to stay and play for us. Confused as to how he is a big bad wolf in it all?

He can't come here and won't play for WBA so are you suggesting he should just rot in the reserves as punishment for trying his hardest to get to our Club?

By the way - all this just backs up my theory that WBA are totally to blame for this whole situation and did it to flex their muscles and teach the lad a lesson. What a bunch of bell ends they are for that.

You're quite right of course, it's just an uncharacteristic knee-jerk reaction from me.I'm like a lot of us that's disappointed in not signing PO,a move that could have made a lot of difference to our faltering season. If it turns out that WBA were just being obstructive and bloody minded, then I hope PO finds a way to turn the tables on them.

By showing zilch effort apart from the odd goal.IMO, He is a cruiser....
If he went he would have let a player who really wanted to play for us come.

That Peace bloke is a complete a*sehole, he moved the goalposts in our deal to scupper it and then does this, seems to be a control freak

WBA clearly made an error, tried to play hard ball with us and it has back fired. They will almost certainly have to pay some of his wages but in any case he has no future there and his value will fall by the time he is sold in the summer.

Glad we didnt pay stupid money. It will almost certainly cost them around 2 million, maybe they did flex their muscles but bet they feel stupid now!

i have it on good authority that there was never any intention on sending hoilett out on loan, whether hoillet wanted to go out on loan or not Tony wouldnt have allowed it.

Interesting that you seem to think we are totally to blame for the entire situation. Why? Because we put a value on him that you did not mee or because he took it upon himself to try and force the issue by driving down to your club and admitted that he was trying to force the issue or because you think that by trying to get him at the last minute was appropriate leaving us with no backup plans when we were refused Hoilett (only on loan). Not sure where I can see it is WBA's fault. Perhaps because we didn't allow you to stamp your feet and get your way. I am pleased our chairman stood firm on this issue. If he was that vital to your plans you would have paid us what we valued him at. If anything, the one upmanship was on your part, as I genuinely believe your chairman and manager thought they would get him for the pittance that was offered. You need to remember, he was of great value to our club with his goals and pace and we would have required a replacement. In January it costs more money than in the summer. We needed to replace PO if he was coming to you and an exchange of players (albeit yours on loan) would have helped. We most probably did ask for Hoilett's salary to be paid in part but I am sure you are aware that you are quite generous with your salaries compared to most clubs. In the end he was obviously not of great importance to Harry and now Pete has a choice, play for the club and show off his talent so he gets a move in the summer or go and languish in the championship until the end of the season. In the grand scheme of things, a couple of million loss on his salary til summer or 2014 when his contract is up, compared with the money we get if we stay up, is not great loss.

Not just his salary though is it, his value will shrink by the summer and everyone will know he doesn't want to be there and no one will pay anything above minimum value. You have also made it clear to all your current and any potential future players that you will only let them leave when it suits you, may work for he likes of Spurs and United but you may well find players don't want to come to you in the future.

Bad short term move and even worse long term one, you might be n the Championship before you know it!

Your t*at of chairman scuppered the deal imo. He wanted Hoilett on loan with a view to a permanent deal and for us to pay the wages allegedly, thats the story i heard, and all this at the last minute. If Hoilett had been part of the deal PO imo wouldn't have left your training ground, because whether TF or JH himself rejected it ...it would still have been rejected. PO was under the impression he was allowed to leave and Ł3.5 mill was agreed.
Anyway good luck paying a huge part of his wages at Palace.

West Brom should have sold Odemwingie to us, got some decent cash for a player who no longer wants to play for them.
Now, they will get next to nothing in the summer for him, wherever he goes.
                            Bad business all round.
