No we do not just nick a goal....we cant just nick a goal in 7 or the last 13 matches......we need to start believing we can score more than one odd lucky goal once in a while.
We need to win comfortably - we needed that yesterday and now it is a must against Swansea. Why? Because we need momentum, belief, confidence, points and a better goalscore. Is it possible? Yes it is but we have to believe it can happen - and by we I mean the players and HR. No more ultra defensive **** against midtable teams like Swansea.

To remain confident we now need 3 points in Swansea and 1 point at home to United. I do not see that happening, but I still have hopes. When I look at the remaining games and calculate we need 7 wins from 13 that hope is totally lost. So at the moment my calculator is locked away.

F..k me your miserable!...previously we haven't nicked goals but why can't we now? If they don't score we can't lose.

Why do we need to win comfortably??? surely we just need to win at all costs?? The Chelsea win was not comfortable by any stretch of the imagination. Man Utd have won many a title by nicking goals in the dying embers of a game so not sure why us keeping a clean sheet and nicking a goal at the other end is such a problem for you!!

Townsend and Jenas creatives a lot from their positions. Apart from the introduction of Samba; That´s the positive I took from last night. Sure that´s a start....

Knew nothing of Townsend and he pleasantly surprised me and Jenas looked ok for the few minutes he played - hopefully they'll both excel.

Townsend was a surprise to me as well.....what a shot he had in the second half.

We were so lucky on Stanford Bridge getting that 1-0 victory (looked like 0-0 would have been the right result). We can not ride that luck every week then we will get results like yesterday. Also the 1-0 result has not improved our results at all - we have not won since then. Yes we have gotten good draws but we should have risen our game to win comfortably yesterday. We did not which tells me we are still on a decent run of form but not the fantastic form we need to survive. That is just a fact. HR has said it all along back to back wins can change everything, but they have not come yet now have they?

It really is simple Zu; if we don't concede we can't lose but we can win - regardless of stats!

Best analysis I've seen. I think it will be proven over the next few weeks that either the 2 points dropped yesterday which was down to HR's team selection or the 2 dropped against West Ham which was down to HR's second half tactics, will ultimately prove to be the difference.

And with regard to the confidence bit, Southampton and Reading have shown recently what happens when the penny finally drops and teams stop trying to be clever with all the negative boring stuff. And if we had chosen that option and picked up more points, I truly believe that both of those teams would have less points now due to the pressure being on them, just as it has been self inflicted with us.

if Remys fit for enough games and we get corners in to Samba and reading stop with this obvious doping scandal, we will stay up.
if any one of these is not dealt with.......................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i refuse to contemplate

Anyone who knows football, realises that it can be a strange game at times and strange things can happen. While there's enough points to play for theres always a REALISTIC chance. There!

So Negative! We can beat Swans & Man U (if we are really up for it)... then we will back in with a real chance.

Of course we can beat them. But the bit in brackets is the frustrating bit. Why can't we just be up for the games we should be winning? Mackie up front on his own at home to Norwich? I seriously doubt anybody on here would have gone with that option, irrespective of the fitness/form of Zamora, Bothroyd or Campbell. It's not a case of the benefit of hindsight, this one. Everyone knew it was ridiculous and so it proved.

I sort of agree but remember how many games cisse missed at the end of last season but we still managed without him, how many points did his goals win us, not too many from what i recall, maybe 4 or 5 at most so even without remy for a while, we can still get goals
